It feels like spring is in the air. I can't believe it's March already! I hope that you are all adjusting well to the permit parking. Some feedback that we have had so far: "It seems to be working well," "There are actually spaces at pick up without Starr King kids wandering through the lot," and "It feels a lot safer!" If you would like to provide additional feedback, please email me at cwaldron@sanjuan.edu. It can be positive or negative. We appreciate learning from both.
Our staff is beginning to read Comprehensive Literacy for All, which we are hoping will improve our skills with teaching reading and writing to our students.
Down the Rabbit Hole
Permission slips are going home this week to enable students to participate in our lending library. We hope that you will want to take advantage of this resource and you and your child will enjoy your time together. If there is a book that you would like us to have available, please email me at cwaldron@sanjuan.edu and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
You Light the Way Award
We are delighted to announce that three members of our PTA, Monique Moraga, Jim Moraga, and Sarah Medal, received the You Light the Way Award from the San Juan Unified School District. The district is having a You Light the Way Awards Ceremony on April 2, 2025, at 6:30 pm, at San Juan High School. During the meeting they will recognize the members of our PTA for the tremendous amount of work that they have done to support our students. Feel free to join us at this celebration.
Coturnix Quail
Recently Amanda Morgan's room, room 21, hatched some Coturnix Quail. There was a Zoom available throughout the hatching process so that all students were able to see them break through their shells. Several classrooms, including the preschools at the site, also came into the room to see the quails in person after they hatched. The students and staff in room 21 are the proud parents of 7 successful birds.

Join the RRC PTA
PTA would LOVE to recruit a President and Treasurer. Six meetings occur each school year during the day while students are in school. Our current people will train you and provide a transition period. If we donβt find replacements, our PTA will need to dissolve. Please consider supporting our school!
