A great big thanks to Cody Cappiello and Ariana Simmons for volunteering to help out at the West Bridgewater Library’s 3rd Annual Winter Open House held on December 12, 2024. They greeted young children and posed for pictures with them.
Costa Rica
Next June, students and teachers are heading to Costa Rica for 9 days in paradise. After the last final exam has been submitted and we’ve crossed all of the items off of our to-do list, we will be switching into vacation mode.
We will hop on a plane and jet off to one of the most beautiful countries on the planet. Are you up for an adventure? How about a swim at hot springs located at the base of a volcano? Tour the cloud forest from above via zipline and hanging bridges? Of course we will also have a couple of days at the beach!
We have a few spots left. Please see Mrs. Edgar or Ms. K with any questions.

Mental Health Matters
As we start the new year, setting meaningful goals can help you stay focused and motivated throughout 2025. Start by making your goals SMART:
Specific
Measurable
Achievable
Relevant
Time-Bound
Break larger goals into smaller, achievable steps, and set a realistic timeline to hold yourself accountable. It's also important to choose goals that are relevant to your personal growth, whether they’re academic, physical, or social. Stay flexible—goals may need to be adjusted as circumstances change. Most importantly, be kind to yourself and celebrate small victories along the way!

A Peek Inside Classrooms
ELA
Mrs. Mischley’s AP Language class had their first “Hear Me Out” argument with the topic being a villain you feel can be considered to have “good” tendencies. Arguments were made for villains such as Darth Vader, The Riddler, Swiper, and many more. Discussions were had and cupcakes were eaten.
Seniors in English 12 classes gave their best Beowulf style boast about their lives as they finished the Anglo-Saxon unit reading of Beowulf. Students aggrandized their family lineage and their personal abilities in work, education and hobbies. An EPIC time was had!
Juniors in Grade 11 English just finished their essays comparing F. Scott Fitzgerald’s view of the American dream in The Great Gatsby to Langston Hughes’s view in the poem “Let America Be America Again.” Essays focused on how many obstacles get in the way of success (racism, classism, etc.), but both texts do have hope for a more equal America. After break, they will finish up the book and get ready for midterms.
The hero’s journey elective is preparing for their “ritual”. This involves a ceremony where they take part in several symbolic activities that represent how the different stages that make up a hero’s adventure connect back to their own lives. Students create emblems and masks that represent their own personal heroic journeys in preparation for the ceremony.
Science
Students in Biology class are learning about the cell cycle and Mitosis. After winter break, students will be designing cell cycle models out of oreo cookies and paper plates, and looking at actual cells in the process of mitotic division under the microscope. Pictures of the students creations will be posted to Mrs. Warnock's class instagram.
TV PRO
Mr. Cray, Fine Arts/Technology coordinator, did a great job of adding some life to the TV hallway!
Social Studies
Students in Ms. Martin’s 9th Grade Honors World History Class made gingerbread cookies before break as people we have learned about in history! Students had to decorate a plate backdrop to set the historical scene and then decorate the cookies as the people they were representing! It was a fun way to show student’s knowledge from what they have learned this year and get into the holiday spirit! It was a great way to end class before break and before we start reviewing for our first midterms in the new year! Great job!
