FREE SENIOR T-SHIRTS & NATIONAL COLLEGE SIGNING DAY
Seniors! It is time to celebrate all your hard work and your postsecondary plans! In honor of National College Signing Day on May 1st, every senior with postsecondary plans will receive a FREE green Senior T-shirt. To get your FREE T-shirt, complete this simple T-shirt Request form. The T-shirt form needs to be completed by Wednesday, April 15 to receive your FREE T-shirt. T-shirts will be delivered to your Advisory class on May 6. If you are a PSEO student, please complete the form and then email Jada Ingram at ingramj@district279.org to arrange a time to pick up your T-shirt. The I’M IN! T-shirt Request form also asks you if you would like to share your future goals and upload a picture of yourself. The CRC will be creating images for the CRC monitors and social media. This is optional. If you don’t already, please follow @PC_CRC on Facebook and Instagram. Wear your I’M IN! T-shirts the Senior Class Meeting on Wed, May 13. Let’s fill the auditorium with GREEN! You can even wear it EVERY SINGLE DAY that week.
AP TESTING
AP exams will begin on May 5 and are scheduled through May 22. All AP exams will be taken in person at Park Center. AP exams will be held in different locations. Check with your AP Teacher or the CRC for testing locations. Please note, all AP exams are digital this year. Students will need to bring a fully-charged school-issued Chromebook for testing.
ACCUPLACER TEST
Some colleges require freshmen students to take the Accuplacer if they scored lower than a 21 on the reading part of the ACT, scored lower than an 18 on the English part of the ACT, scored lower than a 22 on the Math part of the ACT, or did not take the ACT at all. It is beneficial to score high enough to be placed in college English and college math and avoid taking a developmental class to prepare you for college level courses. If you are assigned a developmental English or math class in college you have to pay the same as any other credit, but this credit does not go toward your diploma or degree. There is a free web based practice app for the Accuplacer with sample questions in each subject. Students can use this tool to explore the format and content of the tests, and get immediate explanations for both correct and incorrect answers. Go to the College Board website to download the app.
ATTENTION SENIORS!!!
Graduation is fast approaching. You will want to keep an eye on Schoology, your email and in Advisory for important information regarding graduation plans.
All graduating seniors will need to complete four tasks for the CRC to be eligible to participate in the graduation ceremony. More information will be shared with seniors in Advisory this month.
