DWS celebrated the end of the year on Tuesday with lots of teamwork, smiles, laughs, snow cones, and water! A huge THANK YOU to Mr. Patota for planning and organizing such a fun event! Thank you to our teachers who helped out, especially Mrs. Lombari and her Robot Dancing! And thank you to our parent volunteers, some who arrived at DWS at 6:45 AM to help set up and run the individual events! This day will certainly be a highlight of the year for our DWS Kids!

As we look toward the spring and our calendars begin to fill with special activities we wanted to share a list of the dates of our spring events.

DWS staff members can award any student with a DWS ALL STAR when they see students being Dedicated, Welcoming, or Safe. All of the DWS ALL STAR awards are put on display in the front lobby. The following students were featured in the morning announcements last week for being DWS ALL STARS!

Grade K: Reed in Mrs. Desharnais’ class is a DWS ALL STAR because he played fair and was a good sport during field day.

Grade K: Wyatt in Mrs. Desharnais’ class is a DWS ALL STAR because he was a DWS kid on the rug.

Grade 1: TJ in Mrs. Dyer’s class is a DWS ALL STAR because he worked hard.

Grade 1: Andi in Mrs. Redman’s class is a DWS ALL STAR because she was so focused and got her work done during small group reading.

Grade 2: Johnny in Mrs. Rose’s class is a DWS ALL STAR because he took his time and did his best work on the Math diagnostic.

Grade 2: Charlotte in Mrs. Auriemma’s class is a DWS ALL STAR because she was a DWS kid for the substitute.

Grade 3: Avery in Mrs. Hanson’s class is a DWS ALL STAR because she worked hard to show growth on the iReady diagnostic assessment.

Grade 3: Madison in Mrs. Hanson’s class is a DWS ALL STAR because she showed excellent behavior on the field trip.

Grade 4: Colin in Mrs. Robatzek’s class is a DWS ALL STAR because he worked hard on reading out loud by slowing down and stopping or pausing for punctuation.

Grade 4: Michael in Mrs. Farrell’s class is a DWS ALL STAR because he connected the vocabulary word “microscopic” to our Science reading.

Congratulations!

5 brand new picnic tables arrived at DWS this week! A big thank you to Rob at John Foster Lumber for your generous donation of materials, to the John Foster team and the Marshfield High School Football team for your time and contribution towards the new DWS picnic tables. Thank you to Sargent Gonsalves who arranged the delivery! They have been used nonstop all week during snacks, breaks, lunch, and recess! They are a great addition to our school!

On Thursday, the DWS class of 2018 who will be graduating this weekend marched through our hallways as we celebrated and cheered! We welcomed them with posters, flowers, and surprise guests - former DWS teachers!
