FELICITA FAMILY NEWS
Week of September 8, 2024
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE π
π Hello Bobcat Families,
This week we will have a new Bobcat join us. Ms. Haas will join the 2nd grade team, allowing our 2/3 combo class to become a straight 3rd grade and for our other 2nd and 3rd grade classes to reduce class size numbers. We are very lucky to have her as a new addition to the Bobcat Family! Please give her a warm welcome when you see her!
It was an unusual week with high temperatures, and at times indoor lunch and recess, and indoor P.E. due to both the heat and the fire in Escondido. We are still expected to have warmer temperatures in the early part of the week, so we will continue to monitor and adjust as needed to ensure student safety.
Stay cool! ππ

In the EUSD Learner Profile, our learner outcome focus for the next month will be learning to become βCritical Thinkers."
- Critical thinkers are inquisitive learners who can reflectively and critically analyze information.
- They ask questions with confidence and seek to understand how the world works.
- Demonstrate mastery of essential knowledge and skills through reflection and revision of my thinking.
- Are willing to reconsider personal views when presented with a compelling perspective.
ATTENDANCE MATTERS β
Congrats to Ms. Roberts' 4th grade class for having the best attendance in the month of August! They won the trophy, keep it up! π
Regular student attendance plays a critical role in our collective mission to ensure every student achieves their fullest potential.
Why Attendance Should Be a Top Priority:
Academic Achievement: Regular attendance is fundamental to student success. Each school day is a building block in the learning process. Consistent attendance helps students keep up with coursework, understand key concepts, and perform better academically.
Social and Emotional Development: School is a place where students develop crucial social skills and emotional resilience. Frequent absences can hinder their ability to form strong relationships with peers and teachers, impacting their overall development.
Future Opportunities: Consistent attendance is linked to higher graduation rates and better long-term outcomes, including higher education and career prospects. By prioritizing attendance, we are directly contributing to students' future success.
School Culture: Regular attendance fosters a positive school culture and enhances the learning environment for everyone. It creates a sense of community and ensures that all students have equal access to the resources and support they need.
