Riding the Wave into a New School Year!

Last week, we kicked off the school year with some special days: Monday through Wednesday for our dedicated staff and Thursday and Friday for our amazing students. It was wonderful to see our halls filled with energy, laughter, and excitement as students returned to Ivy Hill!

Our teachers and staff set the stage early in the week, preparing for the journey ahead, and our students joined in with enthusiasm that brought our theme—Ride the Wave—to life. Together, we’re ready for a year filled with learning, laughter, and epic adventures

We’re excited to share that Ivy Hill Elementary School in Arlington Heights has been recognized in the September 2025 of the Chicago Magazine Schools That Rule rankings for suburban Cook County!

Our school earned the #2 spot, celebrated for excellent academics, caring teachers, and a supportive community.

Congratulations to our students, families, and staff for making Ivy Hill a top school!

We are so grateful for all of the health forms that have already been submitted—thank you for your support! As a gentle reminder, if your child is a kindergarten student or a new student to Ivy Hill this year, we kindly ask that a completed physical exam be provided at your earliest convenience.

Every day that your child is not in school, is late or is leaving early the office needs to know!! There are two ways to notify us and they are available 24 hours a day!

1. Our GOOGLE FORM - just write in the information - you don't have to talk to anyone!

2. Our ATTENDANCE HOT LINE - Just call 847-398-4275 (the main number) and press 1 - leave us a message.

If you don't call, we are required to call you so PLEASE remember to call your child in absent, late or leaving early!!

We want every student to get home safely and smoothly, and your help makes a big difference! If your child’s usual dismissal plans change—for example, being picked up by someone different, walking home instead of taking the bus, or any other change—in addition to emailing your child's teacher, please email the school office at ihoffice@sd25.org.

Thanks so much for keeping us in the loop! With your support, dismissal can be calm, organized, and as joyful as the start of the day.

Ukraine Independence Day takes place on August 24 and it marks Ukraine's declaration of independence from the U.S.S.R. in 1991. The day is celebrated with great enthusiasm and is the most popular day of the year for Ukrainians around the world.

Established by Congress in 1971 to commemorate the 1920 passage of the Nineteenth Amendment granting women the right to vote, and to encourage the ongoing efforts for women’s equality in all areas of American life.
