SLE Panther Post
Important Information for Families - Week of 11/2/26
A Message from Ms. Robinson
🎃 👻🎃 👻🎃 👻🎃 👻🎃 👻🎃 👻🎃 👻
Hello, SLE Families!
We had a "scary" good week here at SLE! Our students were learning, laughing, and getting into the spirit of the season.
A huge shout-out to PTA and all our amazing volunteers who helped make our Fall Fest and Halloween Parties a HUGE success—it was a blast!
As we head into a new month, November will be all about gratitude! This month we’re wild about learning to be thankful! All November long we are going to Train Our Brains to have an Attitude of Gratitude!
As an SLE community we want to share in each other’s happiness and be thankful for good things happening all around us. At school. At home. It’s a Panther Thing to identify those that show appreciation, notice the difference it makes in your minds and hearts, and then take action by creating a schoolwide display of our WILD SPOTS of GRATITUDE!
Have a safe and fun weekend!
💛💙
All One, Each One!

The November Election Includes Two Measures Affecting Jeffco Public Schools
Help Kindergarten Celebrate the 50th Day of School!
🎉 Let’s Celebrate the 50th Day of School! 🎉
📅 Tuesday, November 3rd
Kindergarten will be rockin’ and rollin’ to celebrate the 50th day of school, and we’d love for everyone to join in the fun.
If you'd like, have your kiddos dress up with us to celebrate! Dressing up is easy with items you might already have at home: students can wear dark jeans with rolled cuffs, full skirts, simple t-shirts or button-downs, cardigans, and white socks with sneakers, with options like slicked-back hair or cute neck scarves to complete the look!
Let’s make it a day to remember — 50 days smarter and stylin’!

Veterans Day at South Lakewood 🎶 🇺🇲
South Lakewood Elementary invites all Veterans & current members of the
Armed Forces to join us as our honored guests for our annual Veteran’s Day Assembly
presented by our 3rd grade students on Wednesday November 11th, 1:30 p.m.
Honored guests will be seated in a special area and are encouraged to wear hats, badges, and/or uniforms to commemorate their branch of service. Other guests are welcome to attend; however, please note that due to our growing student body, space is very limited and standing for the duration of the program may be required.
Special photo request:
A large part of our presentation each year is a slideshow that contains photos of Veterans (we also love to include current active-duty military - as well as family who may have served in any military across the world) that have connections to South Lakewood. If you would like to share any photos to be included - please email them to Mrs. Short by NO LATER than Friday November 6th at: ashley.cervenkashort@jeffco.k12.co.us Be sure to include service member's name, branch of service, and student(s) at SLE that they are connected to and how (Example: Michael Champan, Army, father of Mrs. Short) *Please limit your photos to one per servicemember **If you have provided photos in past years, you do not need to resend.

Outdoor Lab Card Resources
During your child’s 6th grade year, they will attend Outdoor Lab: a week-long, overnight camp hosted at one of two Jeffco Public School sites (Mt. Blue Sky and Windy Peak). Since 1957, Jeffco students have participated in this program and it has become a rite of passage for generations of families in our community.
There is a tuition fee for attending Outdoor Lab. The 2026-27 Outdoor Lab tuition fee is $335. To offset (or eliminate) this cost, the Outdoor Lab Foundation has established the Lab Card Program in partnership with King Soopers and Safeway where donations generated from your normal shopping are directed to your child’s Outdoor Lab fees! Get started fundraising early to ensure as much of or all the fees are covered. Visit their website to begin fundraising today!
