**Remember no school for students October 13th & October 14th**

The Butter Bowl is a highly anticipated game between neighbors and long-time friends— an electric matchup that brings the town of Land O'Lakes together for one of the best Friday Night Lights atmospheres in the state. Spirited fans decked out in school colors will pack the stands to witness the annual football game between your Sunlake Seahawks and the Land O'Lakes Gators. While the Seahawks own the most amount of wins in the overall matchup (10-8), the Gators have kept the trophy since 2021, winning the last 4 games straight.

IT'S TIME TO BRING THAT TROPHY BACK HOME!

We will hold our Annual Butter Bowl Pep Rally on Friday (see the activity schedule above) to help pump up the team and the student section. This is a game you do NOT want to miss so make plans to join in the fun and be the "12th" man on Friday night to help the team return the trophy to "The Lake"!

We are closely monitoring attendance and behavior data each month and we will sharing some overall academic data after our 1st report cards. Remember that attendance and behavior directly impact academic achievement because when students are not in class they are missing critical instruction. Not all learning can be replicated through make-up work and online tasks in myLearning; classroom discourse and peer to peer interactions are so valuable.

Wondering how you can help? Take look at this data and see if you can see your child in the patterns...

• If students need to call home- they can come to Guidanc during their lunch period
• Violations of the District Wireless Communication Device have led to a 300+% increase in Office Discipline Referrals...whether they are first time or repeats. Review the policy below!
• Absences are highest on Fridays followed by Mondays. This coming weekend is a 4 day weekend for students so take advantage of knowing the school calendar so you can plan vacations around non-student days. 😀
• Tardies and Early Releases not only create crowded offices, they cause students to miss instruction. While some tardies are a result of our transportation woes, the majority are not. Our students that have a parking pass are subject to having the pass removed for continued tardies. Please do everything possible to ensure that your child arrives on time!
