LMS Friends,
We hope you are ready for the 2021-2022 school year! It is always an exciting time of the year!
You should have received a direct email to you with your child's advisory and team placement. If there was a change to your child's placement, you would have been contacted directly. Again, thank you for your patience in waiting for these until the end of the summer. PowerSchool has your child's latest schedule. If you are having trouble getting in, please give our office a call.
If for some reason you did not receive the hard copy mailing over a week ago, we have attached these items again this week in this newsletter for you as well as in the old news section at the bottom!
You have also received a direct email about PikMyKid and dismissal. Please look for that email and go through the set-up process. There are some folks that have been having trouble and we are troubleshooting and trying to solve those issues. If your child has not appeared when launching the app, it is because we might not have the correct cell phone number for you or another parent cell phone is connected and not the other. You can reach out to support@pikmykid.com or through the downloaded app and give them your child's tag number and they will set it up for you. We will continue to troubleshoot tomorrow morning.
Everything in this Scoop is all we need to know to get started tomorrow! Please know that there are plenty of adults (smiling under masks) helping children find where they need to go in the building. See you all soon! We are going to have an awesome year!
Enjoy the Scoop!
Regards,
John P. D'Entremont, Principal

Morning Arrival and Drop-Off
In the morning - Students should start to arrive to campus at 7:22 AM in the morning and not before. Buses will get students here on time.
Attendance - Students are expected in their advisories by 7:30 AM. If a child is going to be absent, please call or email the school. Please remember that a sick child or a child with any COVID symptoms should not be sent to school.

Water Bottles, Backpacks, & Lockers
Students should have a water bottle and can use the bottle filling stations throughout the day. We strongly encourage this! Please make sure your child has a water bottle!
Every student needs a backpack!
Students will be given the option to have a locker OR to carry their backpack with their belongings with them. Lockers will not be locked this year in order to allow students to quickly get to and from lockers.
Please ensure your students have a backpack, water bottle, and the following school supplies:
pens/pencils
erasers
scissors
ruler (with metric)
glue stick
colored pencils
If there are other needs, teachers or teams will be in touch as school gets started.
Chromebooks
All students will be issued their chromebooks as we start school.
Students need their chromebooks every day they are at school! We continue to encourage students to take care of their machines and very much appreciate your help with this. We want to keep our machines in good working order at all times. We can troubleshoot functioning but we can't just replace due to breakage.

6th Grade Flex Block
As we get started next week, we wanted to bring attention to the Flex Block on your child's schedule. There have been a few questions about it, so we wanted to take a moment to answer them.
The flex block is designed this year to be just that...a flex block. The purpose is to support and enrich the student experience first and foremost in Math and Reading. Under the leadership of Ms. Karabaic and Ms. Schoonmaker, students who need extra support in reading and math will get that extra support. Students that do not need extra support will extend and advance their skills even more in math, reading, and we hope in other subjects too. Ms. Karabaic and Ms. Schoonmaker are excited to be teachers on the Spruce Team and to be working in collaboration with the other teachers on the 6th grade team: Mrs. McFarland (ELA), Mr. Duford (Math), Ms. Rzemien (Science), Mr. Mannix (Social Studies), Ms. Masterson (Special Educator).
This is a new block this year for 6th graders and our hope is that we will be able to meet the needs of our 6th graders better with this new format. Check out Ms. Schoonmaker's web page if you would like to know even more.
Latest Update by Nancy Pageau
Welcome back LMS families!
I am looking forward to seeing/meeting students “in person” this school year. We will be continuing to follow all of our previous covid mitigation measures to start the year including masking, physical distancing, hand hygiene and voluntary asymptomatic testing (more info to come).
Currently, students 12 years old and older are eligible to receive the Pfizer covid vaccine. I highly encourage all persons who are eligible to receive the covid vaccine to do so. If your child has received the vaccine, and you wish to share that information with the nurse for inclusion in their health record, please provide me with a copy of their vaccination card including the dates the vaccine was administered.
For any and all covid related questions, don’t hesitate to contact me.
A reminder that you must keep your child home for any signs of illness or covid symptoms. You should consult your pediatrician and get tested for covid, as needed, before your ill child can return to school.
All students who are new to the Lebanon School District, or are entering 7th grade need to have a current physical on file (performed in 2021). Annual physicals for all students are highly encouraged. Every student should have an up to date immunization record on file as well. I will be reaching out to families soon if I do not have the needed info on file. Thank you for your diligence in getting this information to the health office.
As always, communication with the nurse regarding the health status, and any changes to the health status, of your child is encouraged. I can be reached by email or phone call.
Looking forward to a safe and healthy school year,
Nancy Pageau
