The Halloween Parade was a Smash Hit! 🎃
Halloween in Georgetown is the BEST time of year! Our entire community embraces the spooky season, and our students look forward to the Halloween Parade every single year. It’s such a fun tradition and a great reminder of what makes our community so special. A huge thank you to our local business owners, the Town of Georgetown, and the Clear Creek Sheriff’s Department for helping make this year’s parade extra special. Thank you to our PTO for putting together a Fun Run this year, and a HUGE thank you to our teachers and staff for walking our students around, planning unforgettable learning experiences, and getting into the spirit of Halloween! We are so lucky!!

We LOVE the Touch-a-Truck Event!!! Thank you Anna Lee and The Town of Georgetown Road and Bridge Crew for putting on such an amazing experience for our students. Our Toddler-2nd grade classes got to climb on the equipment, blare the horns, fire off the sirens, and experience all the amazing machines that make this town work. We also got a visit from the Clear Creek Sheriff's Department, and The Ambulance came! Thank you to all of our local town employees for making it such a special morning in Georgetown! Please click the photo below for a short video highlighting the event!

🎃 A Little Pumpkin Patch Magic in ECE! 🎃
Ms. Juana brought pumpkins for all of our Toddler, Preschool, and Pre-K students last week! Each student had the opportunity to decorate their very own pumpkin and then take it out to our ECE Pumpkin Patch. What a fun and creative way to celebrate the season, encourage artistic expression, and build excitement for Halloween! A big thank-you to Ms. Juana for creating such a special experience for our youngest GCS learners! 🧡

Ms. Sing and Ms. Mckenzie's Math Bands Put their Measuring Skills to Work
We needed some help getting prepared for today's Fun Run, and Ms. Sing, Ms. McKenzie, and their Math Bands were up to the task! Students put their measurement and multiplication skills to work to solve the problem of how to tally everyone's laps at the Fun Run. After collaborating and working through the logistics, students decided to create individual index cards for every student at GCS to track their laps. A great opportunity to apply math skills to a real world task while helping prepare for a schoolwide event!

🍂 A GCS Fall Tradition: Miller Farms! 🍎
Ahhh, traditions! One of our favorite fall traditions at GCS is our annual October field trip to Miller Farms, where our 3rd–6th grade students get to harvest fresh fruits and vegetables to take home to their families! Year after year, students tell us this is their favorite field trip, and it’s easy to see why. From riding out into the fields to harvesting their own produce, bagging it up, and bringing it home to share, students experience firsthand where their food comes from. These hands-on learning opportunities create meaningful connections to agriculture, healthy eating, and the journey from farm to table. It’s an experience our students remember for years to come, and we love being able to keep this special tradition alive at GCS! 🥕🎃

Mrs. Mack's Math and Reading Bands Focus on Academics, Growth, and Achievement!
It’s a joy to spend time in Mrs. Mack’s Reading and Math Bands! The enthusiasm for learning, pride in student work, and positive energy in the classroom are truly contagious. Students are actively engaged, building their skills, and celebrating their progress every day. It’s wonderful to see our GCS learners growing in confidence, strengthening their academic skills, and taking pride in their achievements. The excitement for learning is undeniable, and we couldn’t be prouder of the growth we’re seeing!

4A information from Superintendent Wes Paxton
What does “up to $4 million” really mean for Measure 4A
It means a maximum—not a requirement to collect the full amount every year.
Under the recent Board of Education resolution, the Board would review capital needs and financial reserves annually, with input from the CCSD Long Range Planning Committee, to help ensure responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars.
Watch the video to learn how Measure 4A would work, how annual funding decisions would be made, and how Board oversight and community input would help hold the district accountable.
