Giving THANKS to our Students, Faculty and Community

This week as we celebrate the Thanksgiving break we wanted to take a moment to give thanks to our students for being so resilient, to our faculty and staff for leading with their hearts, and to our parents for their ongoing support during these uncertain times. We are grateful for our community and the way we have all worked together to adapt to the challenges we are facing. We hope you enjoy a safe, happy, and healthy Thanksgiving holiday.

This Week's Schedule

Update on Term 1 Grades

We wanted to provide an update on the release of updated term 1 grades. As you know, term 1 came to a close last week. This past weekend as our teachers were preparing to finalize grades in PowerSchool, we became aware that PowerSchool was updating its software and was not available to our teachers. With that in mind, grades will now be published on Wednesday, December 2 at 2pm. All students and parents will receive an email when grades are finalized.

A Message from the Nipmuc School Nurse

Per the MA Department of Public Health, influenza immunization will be required for all children 6 months of age or older who are attending Massachusetts child care, pre-school, kindergarten, K-12, and colleges and universities. The new vaccine requirement is an important step to reduce flu-related illness and the overall impact of respiratory illness during the COVID-19 pandemic.

All MURSD students will be expected to have received a flu vaccine by December 31, 2020 for the 2020-2021 influenza season, unless either a medical or religious exemption is provided. Also exempted are K-12 students who are homeschooled and higher education students who are completely off-campus and engaged in remote learning only. This new flu immunization requirement to enter school in January is in addition to existing vaccine requirements for all those attending child care, preschool, K-12, and colleges and universities in Massachusetts. Elementary and secondary students in districts and schools that are using a remote education model are not exempt.

Please forward documentation of your child’s flu vaccine to the school nurse prior to December 31, 2020.

Please click here for more information on the flu vaccine requirement.

Nipmuc DECA Community Giving Projects

Our students that participate in DECA ( Distributive Education Clubs of America) are hard at work with this year's project. As part of their work, these students are able to align with organizations that hold a special place in their heart and make an impact in the community. Below are just a few of the current projects that are going on.
