This Week's Student Success Skills Curriculum Focus is Support Systems

PCI Tigers! In your Career Competencies Classes, we’re focusing on Support Systems. Support Systems are defined as a network of people, groups, and resources that provide various types of support, including emotional, practical, and informational assistance. Having support systems is crucial for managing stress, improving well-being, and promoting resilience. The quality and type of support, such as feeling valued and understood, are often more important than the number of relationships. Reflecting on Support Systems helps build Social Awareness, which also strengthens a Sense of Belonging.

PCI DECA Shines at Fall Leadership Conference

Transportation Transportation

Here Comes the Bus

Reliable Transportation Methods:

  • Parent/Guardian Drop-Off: Begins at 8:00 AM
  • Parent/Guardian Pick-Up: Between 3:15 PM – 4:30 PM
  • Parent/Guardian provides transportation to the zoned school for students to catch the PCI magnet bus.

Bus Transportation:

  • PCI provides bus service to and from the zoned school.
  • If students elect to use neighborhood buses to reach the zoned school, please know that if the neighborhood buses run late, students may miss the PCI bus departing from the zoned school and/or they may miss the departing bus in the afternoon. We also ask that if PCI students elect to take the neighborhood buses, that they demonstrate excellent behavior that is reflective of a PCI student.

Emergency Mental Health Resources:

The following facilities provide 24-hour assistance and have shared with the district that they will complete emergency assessments at no cost. If your child already receives support from a mental health provider, you may wish to contact that professional first. You may also want to check with your insurance company regarding mental/behavioral health coverage. Please note that the district does not endorse any provider, makes no representations as to the effectiveness of these providers, and makes this information available only as a helpful resource.
