End of Year News - Farewell from Mr. Perreault
Principal's Update
Dear NBC Families,
As this school year comes to a close, I wanted to share that I will be stepping away from my role as principal at the end of the year to begin a new opportunity with the Community Foundation for Muskegon County. While I am excited for what is ahead, this decision is certainly bittersweet because this school has meant so much to me.
It has truly been a privilege to serve this community and work alongside such incredible students, families, and staff. One of the greatest joys of my time here has been getting to know our amazing students, celebrating their growth, and watching them learn, lead, and succeed in so many different ways. I am incredibly grateful for the time I’ve spent here and for the support, kindness, and partnership our families have shown me throughout the years. This is a very special place, and I will carry many wonderful memories with me.
I know many families may be wondering what comes next, and an announcement about the next principal is expected in the coming weeks. I am confident this school will continue to thrive and remain a place where students are supported, challenged, and celebrated. Thank you again for allowing me to be part of this wonderful community. I wish all of our students and families a safe, relaxing, and wonderful summer.
Sincerely,
Jim Perreault

Camp Wildcat Summer Program
NBC will once again host Camp Wildcat, a free summer program for our 6th-8th grade students. The camp-like experience will take place at NBC led by MAPS instructors! This will be a great way to give your child an opportunity to interact with friends, get outside and away from screens.
Camp Wildcat was created by our MAPS teachers to be a project based/integrated experience that will feel more like summer camp than school, even though there will be plenty of learning too! Students will be working on projects while learning necessary academic skills.
Camp Wildcat is 6 weeks long and meets Mondays through Thursdays from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm.
Session dates:
6/8 - 6/11
6/15 - 6/18
6/22 - 6/25
6/29 - 7/2
7/7 - 7/9
7/13 - 7/16
Transportation to and from camp, breakfast and lunch are provided each day.
If you would like your child to attend Camp Wildcat please click the link below and fill out the short enrollment form. We will take the first 40 participants who sign up on a first come first served basis.

Every Wildcat. Every Day. Attendance Matters!
As the school year winds down, every school day still matters! Final projects, testing, review activities, field trips, and important classroom lessons continue through the last day of school. Here are a few ways families can help students finish the year strong:
- Maintain regular bedtime and morning routines to help students stay rested and ready to learn.
- Schedule vacations, appointments, and non-emergency trips outside of school hours whenever possible.
- Encourage your child to stay motivated by talking about goals, end-of-year activities, and finishing strong academically.
- Continue checking grades and assignments regularly so there are no surprises at the end of the marking period.
- Help students arrive on time each day. Even missing part of the school day can cause students to fall behind.
- Remind students that attendance impacts learning, friendships, classroom participation, and overall success.
- Communicate with the school if your child will be absent due to illness or an important situation.
- Celebrate good attendance and recognize your child’s effort in staying committed through the end of the year.
Thank you for partnering with us to make the final weeks of school productive, positive, and successful for all students!

Students in Mrs. Kriesel's Design Thinking class have been working on creating a successful food truck business. They learned the 4 P's, product, placement, promotion, and price before partnering up. Students then surveyed classmates on their design and business ideas, created menus, and are currently building a replica of their food truck using what they learned.

6th Grade Q&A Panel
NBC had a few 6th grade students who participated in the Q & A Panel during the 5th grade visit. They did a great job of answering the students' questions, giving advice for success, and easing some anxiety about the transition in general.
