March 2026 Newsletter
A Word From the North High Student Services Department
The North High Student Services Department wishes you a cheerful March as our temperatures warm up and the official start of Spring is right around the corner. A general reminder that the 3rd quarter ends on Thursday, April 2nd. Your 3rd quarter grade plays a big part in what you will need to achieve for the 4th quarter in order to meet your academic/grade goals for the second semester. It is your semester grade that will appear on your transcript. Please make sure that make up work is being done and that you are on track in your classes. Communication with your teachers remains a very key part of this process and having a plan in place can really help your efforts. If you need help communicating with your teachers, or just coming up with a better plan feel free to ask your counselor for some help.
Seniors (and parents of seniors) - please especially be aware of your current credit status and that you are on track for graduation. Only three months left!
North has five counselors, each with a caseload of 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. There is also a School Social Worker, and a School Psychologist located within the Student Services Office. Please feel free to contact us any time with your questions or concerns - contact information is listed at the bottom of this newsletter.
Thank you,
The North High Student Services Department

CAPP Courses for College Credit
With the advent of Lakeland University CAPP courses being free year for SASD high school students, along with the other CAPP and Transcripted course opportunities that students have access to, it is important to understand what it means to be "officially enrolled" in these types of courses. CAPP and Transcripted courses mean that those courses are offered for college credit and that students can/will receive a recorded grade on a college transcript. This means that a student's official college G.P.A. also starts with a CAPP or Transcripted course(s) taken in high school. Any/all CAPP or Transcripted courses that are taken in high school - and that college credit is granted for - needs to be reported to colleges when filling out college applications. CAPP and Transcripted course processes, timelines and procedures for signing up for - or opting out of - college credit can be answered by the teacher of the CAPP or Transcripted class.
Here is a copy of the district letter that was sent out regarding the enrollment process of students into the Lakeland University CAPP courses starting this year. All other CAPP courses will still have their official enrollment processes and deadlines
