Principal's Corner

We are well on our way to spring! It has been a cold and snowy February, but I hope things will start looking warmer as we get further into March. During vacation, the team installing our new Air Exchange units completed nearly all of the install work. We look forward to improving the air quality in our classrooms. Thanks to everyone for their patience and flexibility while we worked through this process.

Students worked incredibly hard on all of the Mid Year benchmark testing in NWEA and AimsWeb. We are seeing academic growth at all grade levels in both Math and Reading. Thank you for ensuring your students were well rested and ready to test.

As we still have mounds of snow on the playground, please continue to send your child into school with their snow gear for recess. Remember, they will go outside unless the feels like temperature is below 10 degrees. Students will be expected to stay on the plowed black top if they are not properly dressed.

Read Across America & Lady Bug Books!

Next week we are combining a celebration of the Ladybug Picture Book Award nominees and Read Across America.

The Ladybug Picture Book Award is designed to promote early literacy and honor the best in recent children's picture books. Read Across America is an annual celebration of reading that schools all across the country participate in.

School activities during the week of March 3rd will include:

  • Reading all 9 Ladybug books

  • Door Decorating

  • Door gallery tour

  • All-School vote

  • Dress-up days

  • All-School Celebration: Friday, March 7, 2025 - Announcement of the winner of the favorite Ladybug picture book at EVS and the New Hampshire winner.

We will be having a Spirit Week to celebrate. Please see attachment for details!

New Hampshire Excellence in Education New Hampshire Excellence in Education

EVS applied to become a NH School of Excellence by sending an application essay to the selection committee in January. We were chosen to move onto the next step of the process by presenting to the selection committee made up of current and former teachers and administrators of schools in New Hampshire. A small team of staff, students and parents came together to create a presentation to showcase the amazing things happening at EVS. The MVRHS A/V club came to EVS and created a video of staff and students sharing why they love working at EVS and how long they have been here.

Although we were not chosen as a finalist, our team worked hard and shared great things with the selection committee. Thank you to all those that participated in creating and sharing the presentation.

Kindergarten Registration 2025-2026

It is time to register for Kindergarten!

If your child will be 5 by September 30th, then they are eligible to enroll in Kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year!

Online enrollment begins March 3, 2025.

Once you have enrolled your child online, you will be added to the list for the Kindergarten Orientation. Orientation will take place on May 21st for all incoming kindergarten students and their parents. An invitation with the schedule and more details will come after you register.

Lunch Balances

There are a couple of different ways to pay for student breakfast/lunch balances.

  • You can send money in an envelope to school with your students name on it. We will give it to the kitchen and it will get put on your child's account.
  • You can set up an online account through MyMealtime and put money on their account. Check out the food services section of the school website for more information.

You will receive a paper copy of any outstanding balances. If you need help, please reach out to the office.
