Eastview Update
October 16th, 2026
Congratulations Artists
Each month, the Educational Service Center (ESC) partners with local districts to showcase the creativity and artistic talents of students through rotating district art displays. For the November showcase, each building in our district selected 6–8 pieces of student artwork to be featured. We’re excited to share the talented Eastview Elementary artists and the artwork that was chosen to represent our school!
Their amazing artwork will be on display throughout the month of November at the Educational Service Center in Elyria.
Bus Safety Week
As National School Bus Safety Week is next week (October 19 through 23), and the students will spend some time on Thursday, October 22 learning about safe bus evacuation procedures, emphasizing the importance of knowing how to exit a bus quickly in emergencies. Drills teach students to recognize all exits, follow the bus driver’s instructions, and evacuate in an orderly manner.
Halloween Parade
We will be having our Halloween Parade on Friday, October 30, around 9:05 a.m. We are going to have the students parade through the school prior to heading outside for the parents to see. If you are planning on coming to watch the parade that morning, please line up on the sidewalk near the front bus loop and up to the main entrance. We will still start the parade by exiting out of the 4th grade doors and will walk along the front of the building and make our way to the front doors at the main entrance. Please wait to line up until we get all of the students in the building safely at arrival.
Costumes - Students are not required to wear costumes on October 30th, but students that do participate have the following guidelines:
1. Please choose a costume that does not reflect violence. Inappropriate “props” such as plastic swords, guns, knives, and weapons of any kind are not allowed – even if they are a part of your child’s costume.
2. Masks are permitted to be worn. If the mask your child has contains fluid or something that looks like blood to flow through it, do not send the fluid or container with the fluid to school.
3. If possible, students should wear their costume to school to be prepared for the morning parade.
4. All costumes should maintain the integrity of our school dress code.
Food - All food for the classroom events must meet the requirements of the district safe snack list, be prepackaged and in the sealed wrapper with the exception of whole fruit or vegetables. Treats going home in goody bags do not need to meet the safe snack list requirements and must be eaten at home.
Thank you for following these guidelines to help ensure the safety of all our students.
