National Fire Safety Month
October is National Fire Safety Month, and our schools will be focusing on fire prevention and safety throughout the month. We are excited for the fire truck and firefighters to come visit Taylor Street this month. This is an opportunity to remind students of the steps they can take to stay safe at school and at home.
Red Ribbon Week is a special time when we talk about the importance of making healthy and safe choices and living a drug-free life.
At Memorial, we want to help our students learn how to make good choices that keep their minds and bodies healthy. Red Ribbon Week is a great time for students, families, teachers, and our community to work together and spread this important message.
Our Red Ribbon Week Spirit Days will help us celebrate being healthy, making good choices, and taking care of ourselves!
Free Dental Decay Prevention Program
Dr. Carlos from Zufall Health will be at Taylor Street on Thursday, October 14, for the Free Dental Decay Prevention Program.
Mrs. Heller is placing permission slips in your mailboxes to be sent home with students. If you need permission slips in Spanish or another language, please let me know, and I will be happy to provide them. If you have any questions please direct them to me. Thank you for your help and support!
From friendly greetings to shared laughs and proud moments, itβs amazing how a simple smile can make someone feel welcome, valued, and part of our school community.

π» Earn Bear Bucks for Great Choices!
At our school, we use Bear Bucks to recognize students who make positive choices and show our school expectations.
When a staff member sees a student making a great choice, showing our school expectations, or going above and beyond, they may receive a Bear Buck!
Every Bear Buck is a celebration of their positive choices. Keep earning them and use them toward special rewards and opportunities at school. π»β
During Hispanic Heritage Month, our school community is celebrating the rich cultures, traditions, history, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino people. Throughout the month, our students will have opportunities to learn about inspiring individuals, explore different countries and cultures, enjoy music and stories, and discover traditions that have been shared across generations.
This is a time for students to learn about and appreciate the diverse experiences and contributions of people from Hispanic and Latino communities. We encourage families to celebrate at home by sharing a favorite family tradition, story, song, recipe, or book with your child.
