SOAR Incentive in Mrs. Arnold's Class!
Our 4th graders were treated to a special surprise this week—a fancy dinner experience to celebrate their positive behavior and hard work through our SOAR incentive program!
SOAR Shout-Out Winners!
Pumpkin Fun in Kindergarten!
Our Kindergarten students received Magic Pumpkin seeds from their teachers to plant! After reading The Little Green Witch, the classes have been learning about the lifecycle of a pumpkin. When they returned to their planting spot this afternoon, they were amazed to discover that their magic seeds had grown real magic pumpkins! Each child now has a pumpkin to take home, whether to decorate or bake into pumpkin pie, just like the witch in the story! 🎃✨
Pumpkins, Play, and Plenty of Smiles at CCRR! 🎃
Our CCRR classrooms were filled with excitement today as students celebrated the fall season with pumpkin and Halloween fun!
Students explored the textures and colors of pumpkins, practiced fine motor skills through decorating, and shared lots of smiles along the way.
We love seeing our young learners engage, explore, and enjoy the magic of the season together!
4th Grade Science Investigators!
4th graders investigated the question: Can you outrun a dinosaur? while learning about our changing Earth through fossil evidence. We created a model to show the measurement of the stride of a dinosaur with the similar leg lengths and then tested out our own running strides.
Student-Led Conferences
Student-led conferences were a hit! Students proudly shared their learning and goals, while parents celebrated their growth and accomplishments.
Picture Re-take Day!
THANK YOU PTO!
Our Buddy Bench was delivered and the students are loving it! Thank you to our PTO for buying us this special bench.
Red Ribbon Week
Theme: “Life is a Puzzle, Solve it Drug Free”
This year, we are excited to celebrate Red Ribbon Week, a time when schools, families, and communities unite to take a visible stand against drugs.
HEART Classes: Students will focus on healthy habits and making positive choices. Each student will pledge to live a drug-free life.
Red Bracelets: All students and staff will wear red bracelets throughout the week to show our commitment to making good choices.
Daily Prizes: Each day, 3 students wearing their red bracelet will be randomly chosen to win. They will win a box of movie theater candy.
Spirit Week: We’ll celebrate with themed spirit days.
Poster Contest: Students in 4th – 6th grade are invited to participate in a voluntary poster contest. Winners from each grade will receive a $5 gift card.
October 27th - October 31st!
** If your child is re-taking pictures, you can send PJs for them to change into! **
Halloween
- Parade: A short "Halloween Parade" will take place beginning at 10:00AM on Friday, October 31st. Our Y5s & kindergarten students will lead the parade around each classroom and then out around the building. All are welcome to come and watch our costume parade outdoors!
- Classroom Activities: Classrooms/grade levels will be planning for Halloween activities and celebrations individually, either before or after the parade. If teachers request parent volunteers to help facilitate the classroom activities, all volunteers will have to submit a Background Check.
- Costumes: Students may come to school in costume on Friday, October 31st. They can stay in costume for the duration of the day. Costumes need to be school appropriate and cannot depict violence or excess blood/gore. No fake weapons are allowed in school (i.e. toy guns, swords, blades, etc). Costume masks can be worn for the parade, but not throughout the day. For costumes that have short skirts/shorts, leggings or pants need to be worn underneath.

Parent Accounts in Canvas
Creating a Parent/Guardian Account in Canvas
Below are the directions for pairing as a Parent Observer with your students’ Canvas account.
Parents can use Canvas to

Red Flag!
When the red flag is hung outside our front doors, this means indoor line-up. Students only can enter the building thru the main door starting at 8:20 AM.
Parking Lot Safety!
Parking Lot Safety Reminder
Student safety is always our number one priority at Ike. Our parking lot is busy with young learners entering and exiting the building each day, and we ask for your continued help in keeping everyone safe.
There is no parking on the side of the building during dismissal, as students are exiting classrooms in this area.
Parents should park only in designated parking spots.
Please use sidewalks when walking to and from the building.
Thank you for your partnership in making sure our arrival and dismissal times remain safe for all of our students.
Health Guidance for Going to School!
We want to partner with our families to make our school a safe, healthy and welcoming environment for your students.
Make sure to send your child to school if they are generally healthy and able to participate in their usual day-to-day activities. Avoid keeping children at home unless they are too sick to participate.
We have put together this helpful chart of when to keep your child home and when they can return to school for common illnesses
