Schoolhouse Driveline: Carline Program & Procedures
Butler always strives to achieve smooth dismissal procedures for our students, families, and staff! The system in place works well when EVERYONE follows the plans of the school. For dismissal, a placard is to be placed on the vehicle's rearview mirror so staff can input your place and call your child. Please be sure to place a placard in each vehicle so the dismissal goes quickly. Should you need an additional, please contact the school office.
NAESP: Beyond the Bell - 5 Ways to Help Kids Build Healthy Habits for a Year Full of School Day Memories
Regular school attendance is incredibly important to the success of your child. Not only does consistent attendance help learning and academics, but it supports the social and emotional well-being of all students. Children will experience sickness during the year or will be required to miss school in order to not spread germs - but establishing healthy routines and practices will provide them the best opportunity to attend school regularly! In this month's National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) Beyond the Bell details 5-Ways to Help Kids Build Healthy Habits.
"School is a place for learning, but it’s also where children build friendships, share laughs, and create memories that last. When a child has to stay home due to illness, they might experience “SOMO” (Sick of Missing Out) on those special moments, from group projects to lunchtime stories and field trips."

ANNUAL STUDENT INFORMATION UPDATE - MUST COMPLETE by 9/30
Each year, all families are required to review and update information on their student(s) in our database. This annual update is critical for the dispensing of medication, reaching you in emergencies and urgent situations, and receiving important communications from CBSD and your school(s).
Updating your information is also required before you will be able to access student schedules and busing information.
To complete this process, log in at www.cbsd.org/parentportal. Once signed in, select "More" from the menu then "Annual Student Information Update."
If you need help, you can contact Lori Rebstock at lrebstock@cbsd.org or 267-893-5714. You can also contact parentportal@cbsd.org.

Information on Title IX
CBSD is dedicated to ensuring an environment free from discrimination due to race, age, religion, sex, gender identity, disability and any other classification protected by state or federal law. We uphold Title IX, prohibiting sex-based discrimination and harassment. Parents and guardians with inquiries should contact Lyndell Davis at 267-893-2060 or ldavis@cbsd.org. More information
New School-Specific Forms to Report Bullying and Other Concerns
CBSD is committed to creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for all. Each school's website now has a specific form under the school's Student Services or Guidance section where concerns related to bullying, cyberbullying, harassment, discrimination, or retaliation can be reported. Once submitted, the school building team will review the information and contact the appropriate individuals to begin the process of support and resolution. You school's Student Services or Guidance section can be accessed under the "Our School" or "Departments" menu on your school's homepage.
Disciplinary Procedures and Responsibilities
All families and students are encouraged to view this chart outlining disciplinary procedures and responsibilities in CBSD. You can also view the complete Board Policy 218: Student Discipline.
Create a Meal Payment Account for Your Student on MySchoolBucks
CBSD utilizes the online platform MySchoolBucks for school meal payments, making it easy to oversee a child's meal choices and maintain their account balance. It is important that an account is created for every student, regardless of whether they take part in school meals or not. You can access MySchoolBucks to view and/or set up an account for your student(s) here. To set up an account, you will need your child(ren)'s student identification number(s), which can be found in the Parent Portal.
Flexible Instructional Day (FID) Bags
During our Back to School Nights, Flexible Instructional Day (FID) Bags will be distributed to families to hold at home in the event we have school cancellation due to inclement weather days. Like last year, blue drawstring bags will be provided to keep at home (they will be collected at the end of the year) and will include the first 2-workbooks.
Please Note: Until the days are announced and scheduled, please do not write names on the bags. Likewise, do not write on the workbooks until they are ready to turn-in for credit. The booklets are grade-level specific and will begin starting the SECOND snow day of the year.
Application for Free and Reduced Meal Pricing 2025-2026 - Now Available
The application for free and reduced meal pricing for the 2025-26 school year is open. Your child(ren) may qualify for free meals or for reduced price meals. Please note, at the high school level, only families eligible for free and reduced priced meals receive free breakfast. Learn more and apply.
Fee Payments for One-to-One Technology

This year, we are celebrating both our 5th & 6th Grades as this will be their final year at Butler before Middle School! Finally, the Butler PTO shared how they support our school through so many amazing family events - volunteers and support are needed for these events to continue to be successful. Thank you to our teachers for sharing and presenting during our BTSN Nights! If families have any additional questions, please contact your child's teacher.
