Ripon Cathedral School Update

Year 2 proudly led the Easter service at the Cathedral and did a fantastic job. The children spoke clearly and confidently, sang beautifully, and represented the school with great pride. They shared the Easter story, explaining the meaning behind symbols we see today, such as flowers and chocolate Easter eggs, and also performed a lovely Easter poem. We are extremely proud of how well they did, and everyone enjoyed taking part in such a special service.

Well done to this term's Superstars who were presented with their framed certificates in worships held before their peers and parents.

Nursery – Benji, who is imaginative, creative and kind, with marvellous manners.

Reception – Isaac W, who makes excellent choices, involving himself in all activities with enthusiasm, in addition to being polite and kind.

Year 1 – Eleanor, who consistently gives 100% effort in everything she does, making her a pleasure to teach and a great role model, being always kind to her friends.

Year 2 – Emilia, who has shown wonderful attitude and tremendous effort in her learning which has paid off in improved confidence and developed skills.

Year 3 – Edwin, who has shown great enthusiasm for his learning, along with determination and a willingness to take on feedback and get fully involved.

Year 4 – Levi, who has shown incredible perseverance and resilience, hence making fantastic progress. In addition, Levi is always kind and consistently follows our school rules.

Year 5 – Grace D, who is a focussed learner, always trying her best whether in group or individual tasks. Her behaviour is impeccable.

Year 6 - Arlo, who demonstrates exceptional effort, attitude and enthusiasm for all his learning, making him a brilliant example for his peers and younger children too.

Year 2 celebrated Epilepsy Awareness Day on Thursday by wearing a purple item. We talked about why it is important to raise awareness and learned how it helps support people with epilepsy. The children really enjoyed taking part and were excited to wear purple for such a meaningful cause.

It would be lovely if children decorated eggs (or drew pictures) with this year's theme being celebrities. Please bring creations to the school hall at drop off on the first Tuesday back. They will be judged for class winners but everyone who enters will win a prize!

Please could parents spread the word about our lovely nursery as currently we have spaces left in several sessions after our first round of applications for starting in September (we are full for the summer term). Thank you.

All parents with children on our expression of interest list for nursery places in September have already been contacted about their child starting with us in the new school year and have priority over any new applicants.

We're pleased to announce that several of our lovely support staff have agreed to work at the start and end of the summer holidays even though they are not obliged to do so. Huge thanks to them as we are able to let you know that Oscar's holiday club will run Tuesday 21st to Thursday 23rd July and Tuesday 1st to Thursday 3rd September.

Booking for the holiday club will be on our usual booking site https://riponcathedralschool.magicbooking.co.uk and the cost is £70 per child for all three days. Please note that the club is only open to children enrolled at Ripon Cathedral School. Booking goes live at 10am tomorrow morning.
