This achievement on the ACT is not just outstanding; it’s exceptional. To put it in perspective, only about one-quarter of 1% of all test takers earn the top score. Among U.S. high school graduates in the class of 2025, only 2,958 out of more than 1.38 million students who took the ACT earned a Composite score of 36.
Laila’s and Lily's achievement is a true reflection of their hard work, dedication, and commitment to academic excellence. Click here to learn more.
Music to Our Ears: CVUSD Middle School Student-Musicians Attain Accolades
Fifteen CVUSD students representing all five CVUSD middle schools (Colina Middle School, Los Cerritos Middle School, Redwood Middle School, Sequoia Middle School, and Sycamore Canyon School) were selected for and recently performed in the 2nd Annual Ventura County Honor Orchestra. Our students were in every section, including: Violin, Viola, Violoncello, Doublebass and Piano. Congratulations to these students, their teachers and families on their impressive accomplishment!
Meanwhile, our Redwood Viking Marching Band won the premier title of Sweepstakes Champion, along with 2nd Place Drum Major at the 66th Annual Swallow Day Parade in San Juan Capistrano. “Sweepstakes” is awarded to the top overall band of the entire event — across music, marching, and overall effect. This achievement is truly commendable with students showcasing exceptional spirit and skill during challenging, warm weather. Congratulations to all students, staff members and families for your combined dedication to this program's overall success - way to go, Vikings!
