PANCAKES/BATTER DONATIONS

To help with a quicker turnaround on the day, we would really appreciate if some parents could pre-make pancakes at home and send them into school Tuesday morning if possible (simple recipe below for anyone who wishes to use it).

Equally, if anyone would like to donate some batter, please make it up and pop it into a plastic 2L or 1L milk container. This makes for easier pouring & making of the pancakes on the day.

We would kindly ask for you NOT to send in the bottles of pancake mix as they are really hard to use and do not mix well (photo attached for reference).

🙏Thank you all so much in advance for your generosity and support for this event 😊

Well Done to the Dangan Pupils for their amazing performance at Dublin Peace Proms Concert which took place last Sunday.

Ms Smyth, Ms Mollison and Ms Walsh were so thrilled to be apart of such a magical event and couldn't be happier with our Dangan Pupil's Performance!! Well Done🎼

A big thank you to Ms Smyth for all her efforts in preparing the choir. More photos of this spectacular day can be found on the school website here.

Grandparents Celebrations Grandparents Celebrations

We were delighted to celebrate Grandparents’ Day here in Dangan! From 1st to 6th Class, pupils invited their grandparents to join us for Mass on Tuesday morning (3rd), with each class marking the occasion in their own special way. It was wonderful to see such a fantastic turnout, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to Fr Martin and Fr Gallagher for leading a beautiful Mass. On Wednesday 4th February, a lovely atmosphere filled the school as our Junior and Senior Infants welcomed their grandparents for a prayer service, followed by a warm and enjoyable gathering with tea and treats. Many thanks to all the grandparents and parents who joined us and helped make the celebrations so special. A sincere thank you also to the Parents’ Association for their support with the set-up and for helping everything run so smoothly.

Volunteering to help does not require a significant time commitment. Parents can help based on their availability, any time you can offer is of great help.

Annually we ask 5th Class to help the 6th Class Confirmation Ceremony and 1st Class with Communion. The following year you receive the same support when your child is preparing for their ceremony. Help Support in some of the following ways Here: Events

Congratulations to our 6th Class pupils who participated so beautifully in the Ceremony of Light Mass in Coole Church last week. As the boys and girls prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation next month, we wish them every blessing and the very best as they continue their preparations for this important and special occasion.

How Parents Can Help Make

Every School Day Count: (Advice from Tusla)

  • Establish a good routine in the mornings and evenings so your child is prepared for the school day ahead.
  • Make sure your child goes to school regularly and follows the school rules.
  • Ensure your child arrives at school on time – not late.
  • Arrange dental and medical appointments outside school hours when possible.
  • Always inform the school if your child is absent due to illness – this should be followed up with a written note when your child returns to school.
  • Take truancy seriously – if your child is not attending school as you expect they may be putting themselves at risk – Who are they with? What are they doing?
  • Take family holidays outside term time.
  • Talk to your child about school and take an interest in their school work (including homework).
  • Attend parent evenings and school events.
  • Praise and reward your child’s achievements at school.
  • Always support school staff in their efforts to control difficult or challenging behaviour.
  • Discuss any problems or difficulties with the school – staff are there to help and will be supportive
