Principal Office Updates
Congratulations to Dr. Aulisa
Dr. Amy Zaher
Please help us spread the word about this great news by sharing our announcement on social media:
School Supply Refresh
It's the time of year when students are starting to run low on regularly used supplies. Please take some time this weekend to check that your student has all the supplies they need including pencils and a working accordion folder. Many students have broken folders and do not bring a pencil with them from class to class.
5Essentials Survey for Parents
We want to hear from you! Each year, our staff, parents, and students take the 5Essentials Survey to show us how we are doing. This feedback is extremely helpful for us to make improvements as a school. Please take the 5 Essentials Survey before March 28th. You should take this survey for each school you have students attending, and not just once for the district.
The image below shows the improvement Albright has made over the past three years on the 5Essentials Survey, and we are hoping to rate all green for the 2024-25 school year. We were only a point or two away from that last year and are excited to see this year's results.
5Essentials Student Survey Participation
Within the next two weeks, Albright students will complete the 5Essentials Survey. The Illinois 5Essentials Student Survey is an important tool that helps schools understand how students feel about their learning environment. Each year, students across Illinois complete this survey to share their thoughts on things like school safety, teacher support, classroom engagement, and how they work with their classmates. The feedback helps schools identify strengths and areas for improvement, so they can create the best possible learning experience for all students. Your child’s voice matters, and their input helps shape positive changes in our school community.
If you prefer your child not complete the survey, please contact Mrs. Hummel at hhummel@saltcreek48 no later than Friday, March 7th.
Erins Law
Dear Parents:
Erin’s Law, House Bill 6193 was signed by Governor Pat Quinn on January 24, 2013. This law requires schools to implement an age-appropriate sexual assault and abuse awareness and prevention curriculum for grades pre-K through 12. It is recommended that four communications a year on Erin’s Law be made available to all students, often through social-emotional instruction and/or contact with the school social worker.
Victor Pacini, a survivor of sexual abuse, author, and motivational speaker, will be assisting our schools in implementing this mandate. Mr. Pacini’s program is developmentally appropriate, interactive, and aligned with learning standards. The focus of his presentation is to teach children basic skills to keep them safe from dangerous or abusive situations. The concepts that will be discussed are:
• Distinguishing safe from unsafe touches
• Safety rules at home and school
• Saying “NO”
• Safe/Unsafe Secrets
• It’s not the child’s fault if someone touches him or her
• Telling a trusted adult
Mr. Pacini and his colleague, Deanna Hynes, will be presenting at our schools on Friday, March 14. Each grade level will participate in an assembly for approximately 30 minutes. The content can be previewed here:https://www.childhoodvictories.com/offers/qmjwe83e/checkout
Requests to Opt-Out: If you prefer that your child opt-out of this prevention education session, please contact Mrs. Hummel at hhummel@saltcreek48.org.
