We have just wrapped up our Week of Respect, focusing on kindness, inclusion, and empathy. While this was a dedicated week, we hope these values stay with our students throughout their lives. We want them to make the right choices, help those in need, and stand up for others. Please take a moment to discuss these important character traits with your children.

A few important reminders about upcoming events:

  • We will begin Study Hall/Homework Time after school on Monday. The schedule will run Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2:45pm to 3:45pm. Students should take advantage if they wish to complete homework, study, or work on projects.
  • October 16th is Jr. YAC’s "Wear Pink Day" in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Students are encouraged to wear pink, with a suggested donation of $1 to support the cause. There will also be a Bake Sale, with all proceeds going to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
  • Parent Conferences will take place on October 22, 23, and 24. A teacher or administrator should have or will be reaching out to schedule these meetings, focusing on students who need academic support. Our goal is to provide enough time for improvement before the marking period ends. If you were not called for a meeting, then there is no need for a meeting at this time.

  • The Bogota PTO has sent home flyers for their cookie fundraiser. Proceeds will go toward making this school year memorable for all. The PTO will also host their Annual Trunk or Treat on October 25 from 6 PM to 8 PM. We encourage all families to attend, and if you’re able to assist, please contact the PTO. There is also an open officer position—interested individuals should reach out to the president.

  • We are continuing with our Jr. YAC Food Drive, with all donations going to help those in need. Your contributions are greatly appreciated!

  • Our Student Council Election results will be announced shortly. We are excited to see our students take on leadership roles and make a positive impact.

  • Thank you for helping improve uniform compliance. This ensures students remain focused on learning. We are also working on reducing tardiness. If your child is frequently late, you will be contacted to discuss solutions. Attendance is essential for success, so please ensure your child is in school daily unless they are ill.

  • Communication with teachers is key to student success. Teachers provide updates on student progress, and your involvement is crucial. If you receive an email about a missing assignment, it’s an opportunity to help your child get back on track.

  • As the weather gets colder, please make sure your child is dressed appropriately, especially if they walk to school.

  • Please note, detentions for students will now be served from 2:40pm to 3:15pm.

Additionally, we want to remind everyone about arrival procedures. Please pull all the way down the yellow line on the sidewalk when dropping off your child. Be sure to pull up on the side of the school to avoid having your child cross the street.

As always, feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child’s education.
