Trail Blazer Bulletin Jan 6-10

Dear Trail Blazer Community
Happy New Year! Here on the Trail, we are excited to welcome back all of our Trail Blazers for the Spring Semester.
As we go through this week, please encourage your students to dress appropriately for the weather so that they are prepared in case of emergencies or fire drills.
This week we will be adjusting our normal morning routine so that we can open doors to students at 8:00. We are hoping that this will offer some more flexibility for parents who need to drop students off earlier and at the same time keep our students safe and out of the extreme cold. Once students enter the building, they will be expected to report to the cafeteria and remain there until 8:20.

Blaze Praise
At Lebanon Trail, we recognize students who exemplify FISD’s character traits through good citizenship and positive behavior. Blaze Praise shines a spotlight on those non-academic qualities that shape a respectful, responsible, and compassionate school community. A Blaze Praise nomination can boost a student’s confidence, reinforce the importance of good character, and enhance their overall school experience. Students are nominated for exemplifying one of our 4 Graduate Profile Pillars–Leadership, Innovation, Social Empathetic, and Driven by Values. The following students were nominated during the month of December. Congratulations Trail Blazers!
Similarly, staff members at Lebanon Trail are recipients of Blaze Praise awards in alignment with our Educator Profile. The 4 pillars of our Educator Profile are Achievement, Purpose, Leadership, and Character. The following staff members received Blaze Praise nominations in the month of December. Congratulations!
The following staff members received Community Shout-Outs in the month of December. Thank you for shining light on the awesome work our Lebanon Trail Staff are doing day in and day out. We appreciate your generosity!

Student Spotlight
In the spirit of recognizing and reinforcing positive behaviors on campus, our staff has nominated students based on November and December’s character strengths—Honesty and Kindness. Each teacher selected one student in their class/program that they feel exemplifies one of these character strengths. If your student’s name is on the below list, they will receive a certificate in the coming days that includes a short statement on why their teacher nominated them. Congratulations to all the students who received recognition for Honesty and Kindness!

Reminders
Student Extended Absences (vacation or otherwise)
FISD policy does NOT permit students to 'work ahead' or to get missed work from teachers prior to the planned absences. Students who remain enrolled, will receive the grade earned; a zero for the remaining grades will be assigned and upon return the student can work with teachers to get missing work submitted within a reasonable time frame and teachers can then submit a grade change form if applicable. It is the student’s responsibility to meet with the teacher and turn in missing work or make up missed assessments upon return to campus.
Students who are considered truant (will have accrued more than ten unexcused absences for days or parts of days within a six-month period including the days that will be missed at the end of the year) will be subject to truancy prevention measures and the possibility of being referred to truancy court.
Students who fall below 75 % attendance in any course will be denied credit.Staff Shout Outs
We encourage you to use this form to nominate a teacher or staff member who you believe deserves special recognition for their contributions. I look forward to sharing your “Staff Shout Outs” with the LT staff.
