Principal's Message From Dr. Otway
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we approach the final stretch of the school year, I want to share an important reminder about the weeks ahead. While it can sometimes feel like school slows down at the end of the year, I want to assure you that this time is critical for our students.
Daily attendance remains extremely important. Each school day provides valuable opportunities for students to continue learning, strengthen their leadership skills, and engage with peers through healthy, positive, and fun connections. These experiences help students grow socially and emotionally and allow us to make informed plans for next year.
We are continuing to plan engaging events and activities to support students through the end of the year, but this is not the time to increase absences. Every day truly matters. I also ask that you please monitor and manage your child’s use of digital devices, especially outside of school. Online predators are at an all-time high, and your partnership in supervising screen time and online activity is critical to keeping our children safe.
We look forward to ending the year strong together and hope you will join us for Field Day and our May family events. These celebrations are meant to be fun for our students and our parents, we want you there with us. Thank you for your continued support, partnership, and trust as we work together to ensure a strong finish to a successful school year.
Warm regards,
Dr. Maisha N. Otway
Principal, College Park Elementary School

This special experience is designed for students in Kindergarten through 4th grade and will take place during the regular school day. Students will enjoy a hands‑on learning presentation featuring a live dairy cow while learning where milk comes from, how cows are cared for, and why dairy products are an important part of a healthy diet.
No action is needed from families—just be ready to hear all about this fun and educational experience when your child comes home!
AMIRA Testing Dates
Students in Pre-K through third grade will participate in the Amira Reading Assessment as part of our end-of-year literacy activities. Amira helps teachers understand students’ reading progress and supports instructional planning.
• Week of April 20: Pre-K
• Week of May 11: Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd & 3rd grade students will complete the assessment. Testing will take place during the school day.
