Hello Main Street Family,

I hope everyone enjoys Chester High’s Homecoming Weekend! It’s always wonderful to see our community come together to celebrate school spirit and Tiger pride!

🎉 Thank You, Families!

A big thank you to all the parents and families who attended our first Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) meeting! Your participation and partnership make a huge difference in our school community. We look forward to working together to make this a fantastic year for our students.

📚 Early Dismissal – Wednesday, October 22nd

Please note that Wednesday, October 22nd is a half-day for students due to Teacher Professional Development.
🕚 Dismissal time: 11:45 AM
Thank you for making arrangements to ensure your child is picked up on time.

💗 Main Street Goes Pink!

Our “Main Street Goes Pink” fundraising activities will culminate this Friday, October 24th, with our annual Walk for the Cure!
Students may dress down in pink and sneakers for $1.
All proceeds will be donated to support a Breast Cancer Survivor.
Let’s show our support, raise awareness, and walk together for a great cause!

📝 Interim Reports

Interim reports were sent home last week.
If you have not received your child’s report, please contact your child’s teacher.
We encourage families to reach out directly to teachers with any questions or concerns about student progress—open communication helps us work together to support every child.

📅 Attendance Matters!

You rock, Main Street Family! Our attendance rate has soared from last week!
Currently, 80% of students are attending school 90% or more of the time—up from 70%!
Our goal is to reach and surpass 80%—and we’re there, no let's surpass it!!

Here’s how you can help:
✅ Make sure your child arrives on time each morning.
✅ Avoid early dismissals whenever possible.
✅ Remember—every minute of instruction counts!

Together, we can help every student reach their full potential!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

With gratitude,
Ms. Darnell Medley
Principal
Proud to serve our amazing school community!

Hidden Gems: The Science Inside a Geode in Mrs. Pettit’s Class

This week, Mrs. Pettit’s third graders explored the fascinating world of geodes! Students learned that geodes form deep within the Earth when mineral-rich water fills hollow spaces in rocks. Over thousands of years, crystals slowly grow inside—creating beautiful hidden surprises within rough exteriors.

After discovering how geodes form, each of our young scientists became a true geologist! Students predicted what their geode might look like inside, then carefully cracked it open to reveal sparkling crystals. The excitement on their faces was priceless as science came to life right before their eyes!

Parents:

Please refrain from making u turns in the car line during dismissal. The safety of our children and parents is of utmost importance to us. We would like to move the cars through the line without any disruptions.
