Cell Phone Policy Update
Mountain Vista’s updated cell phone policy is off to a strong start, noticeably boosting student focus and campus engagement. With fewer screen distractions, teachers report quieter classrooms and livelier group discussions, while students have adapted seamlessly to these daily expectations.
Parents are asked to review the MVHS and DCSD policy guidelines and discuss these device expectations at home. Please also check the Attendance Line Reminders section below to review our protocols for student absences.

📸 Don’t Be a Digital Ghost: Picture Day is Coming!
Whether you’re in it for the yearbook or just trying to survive the semester, getting your photo taken is for your student records. Here is why you need to show up:
Your Digital Identity: Your photo is uploaded directly to Infinite Campus (IC). This is how teachers, counselors, and staff identify you for attendance, grades, and safety.
The Golden Ticket (Your ID Card): No photo = no ID card. You’ll need that ID for:
Checking out library books and tech
Buying lunch
Getting into school dances and sporting events
Proving you actually go here!
When your proofs are ready you may visit Dr Photo to view them and download your Digital ID/Activity Card for the year. We suggest that you download and save your ID to your photos so that you have quick access to it throughout the year.

Yearbook Accomplishments
We would like to acknowledge the 2025-26 Yearbook committee for a wonderful accomplishment. The 2025-26 Yearbook was awarded the All Colorado Award! Colorado's highest honor by the Colorado Student Media. CONGRATULATIONS!
Parking Lot Reminders
We totally understand that there are Parking lot issues. We have seen vast improvements in a short period of time. We appreciate the ongoing diligence of our security staff. Here are some helpful tips that we can all use to help them ease any congestion.
1. Using your turn signals helps our security staff and crossing guards direct traffic safely and efficiently.
2. Please adhere to the 10 mph speed limit. With 6th graders now on campus, it is vital to slow down and watch for our youngest students.
3. Be extra cautious of students, bikers, and scooter riders in the crosswalks.
Attendance Line Reminder
Planning to pick up your student early? Please help us ensure a smooth departure by calling the Attendance Line at 303-387-1502 as early in the day as possible!
How Advance Notice Helps:
- Digital Pass & Logging – We will immediately log the early release in Infinite Campus for the teacher to see, and we will send a digital pass directly to your student's email.
- Easy Exit – Before class starts, your student can simply show their teacher the pass on their phone or device and head out at the designated time.
Last-Minute Pick-Ups
If an unexpected need arises and you are unable to call in advance, don't worry—we will dispatch a paper pass to your student's classroom as quickly as possible.
Please Be Patient: MVHS is a large campus! Paper passes are hand-delivered to the classroom. We appreciate your patience and grace as we work to get your student to you safely and promptly!
Hearing and Vision Testing Information
In accordance with state mandates, our team will soon be on-site to conduct annual vision and hearing screenings for students in 9th Grade. Additionally, we will screen students in 10th, 11th, and 12th grades who are either NEW to the district or currently have an IEP.
Opt-Out Requests: Parents wishing to opt out must submit a request in writing before screenings begin. Please send any opt-out emails to Linh Barger, linh.barger@dcsdk12.org.

Stage Flight Theatre presents S.P.A.R. by Stephen Gregg
Stage Flight Theatre presents S.P.A.R. by Stephen Gregg. This marvelous one-act play bends the time and minds of its characters and, eventually, the audience as it humorously explores identity and character. It's our first show of our 25th season, starring our freshman and sophomores and directed by senior Elora Doran.
