We are excited to begin preparing our 3rd–5th grade students for the annual Bunker Hill School Spelling Bee!

Our grade-level spelling bees will take place on Wednesday, October 14th. Each student in 3rd–5th grade will complete a written spelling test. The test will begin with words from their grade level and will also include words from higher grade levels, as well as some words that are not on the study list. Study lists will be sent home this week!

Based on the written test results, the top 12 spellers from each grade level will receive a Spelling Bee T-shirt and advance to our School Spelling Bee, which will be held on Wednesday, December 2nd at 8:45 a.m. in the BHE Cafeteria. Parents are encouraged to attend and cheer on our spellers! The winner and runner-up of our School Spelling Bee will go on to represent Bunker Hill at the District Spelling Bee in February.

We can't wait to see our students spell their way to success!

Plan a Costume

All students are encouraged to celebrate a country of their choice by dressing in traditional clothing that represents and honors its culture. To help us celebrate respectfully, we kindly ask families to avoid costumes or accessories that could be considered cultural appropriation, including inflatable costumes or stereotypical representations.

We can’t wait to celebrate the incredible cultures and traditions that make our BHE community so special!

You can help by ordering from the Amazon wish list and shipping directly to the school, or dropping donations off at Keleigh Spinner’s home at 11820 Chapelwood Ln. Items don’t have to be on the wish list—any small prizes your child would enjoy or scrapbooking supplies are appreciated!
