KEWASKUM DISTRICT NEWS
MESSAGE FROM THE DISTRICT ADMINISTRATOR
My 13 year-old nephew lives in a state where school starts in the beginning of August, so on the Sunday before the first day of school, I texted him to see if he was ready for his first day. His one word response was, “Nope.” Needless to say, the Monday morning school routine was a bit of a shock to him as he was used to a “sleep until ten” summer schedule.
As we prepare to welcome students back on Tuesday, September 2, now is a great time to help your child ease back into school routines and get excited for the year ahead.
Here are a few tips to help your family get ready:
Begin transitioning to school-year sleep schedules a week or two in advance.
Talk with your child about what to expect—whether they’re entering a new grade, starting a different school, or reconnecting with friends.
Review school supply lists, set up a designated space for homework, and begin building back-to-school routines at home.
If your child is feeling anxious, reassure them that it’s completely normal, and remind them of the familiar, friendly faces who will be there to support them.
We are eager to partner with you to make sure every student feels welcomed, prepared, and excited to return. If you have any questions or need assistance preparing for the school year, whether it's about supplies, transportation, schedules, or anything else, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s building principal. Our team is here to help.
Let’s work together to make this a fantastic school year.
Dr. Bazata
Superintendent
Kewaskum School District

NEW VISITOR / CHAPERONE CHECK IN
We are excited to share that our district is adopting the Raptor Safe mobile app as part of our ongoing commitment to keeping our schools safe and welcoming. This easy-to-use app builds on our current visitor procedures, offering a more convenient and secure check-in process for everyone.
This new program will replace the background check form and will be used for all visitors and chaperones. We believe Raptor Safe will make the process smoother and faster while continuing to keep the safety of our students and staff a top priority.
