MEMORIAL DAY CELEBRATION MEMORIAL DAY CELEBRATION

Join us for the Phelps Memorial Day Celebration on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 9:00 AM at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Families are invited to sit in the stands, while students and staff gather on the field for a special ceremony honoring our veterans.

DRESS FOR RECESS DRESS FOR RECESS

As the weather gets warmer, please keep our dress code in mind!

--

DRESS CODE (from Elementary Handbook)

Student dress should be school appropriate and in good taste. Hats, visors, belly shirts, lounge pajama bottom pants, flip-flops and clothing containing inappropriate messages or language may not be worn. Sneakers are required for all physical education classes. All footwear should have a heel strap for student safety. Shorts and skirts should be long enough so that the fingertips when extended down the leg touch the hem of the skirt or shorts. Shirt straps must be at least two (2) inches in width. During the winter months, when the weather permits, students will be going outside. Long pants are required during cold days. At the principal's discretion, students will have outdoor recess and need to be dressed appropriately (no bare legs).

On a similar note, we strongly suggest sneakers for recess time, and to be clear, slides are included in the footwear that is not permitted at recess.

LITERACY NIGHT LITERACY NIGHT

Literacy Night on Wednesday was a blast! Thanks to Jill Miller for connecting us with the talent of Shawn Harris. Thanks to families for attending and staff for helping out!

DRAMA PERFORMANCES THIS WEEK DRAMA PERFORMANCES THIS WEEK

Join us for drama performances by the Grade 3 and 4 Drama Club after school on Tuesday and Wednesday at 3:30.

MEDICAL MATH MEDICAL MATH

Shout out last week to Grade 4 for inviting families for a two hour rotational math review called Medical Math. It felt like an operating room as heart beat music played, students measured bones, wore Dr. ID badges, and practiced all sorts of hands-on word problems with the support of family volunteers! Such an engaging and fun way to review!

ARRIVAL NOTES ARRIVAL NOTES

If you are walking your child to school or if anyone is approaching the school on foot, please use crosswalks to cross over to the school. We do not want anyone walking in between the buses. The diagram above has red arrows that point to the different crosswalks which should be the only access points used to cross over to the school building. Thank you for your cooperation.

LIBRARY BOOKS LIBRARY BOOKS

All Phelps School library books are due May 19. Starting this week, student will no longer check out books during Library time. Overdue library book notices were sent home previously. Please make every effort to locate and return any overdue books.

ROGERS MIDDLE SCHOOL FAMILY INFORMATION NIGHT ROGERS MIDDLE SCHOOL FAMILY INFORMATION NIGHT

Attention Grade 4 Families: Rogers Middle School is hosting a Family Information Night on May 22 at 5:30pm in the Rogers Middle School Auditorium. In addition, our fourth grade students will be walking up to RMS on May 30th to tour the building and learn about the school. These are important opportunities to help our fourth graders begin the transition to Middle School so we hope you can make it!
