Ashland Preschool Update

Hello, Preschool Families!

We had a wonderful first week back from break here at Pittaway! Our students jumped right back into routines and learning, and it was so nice to see their smiling faces again.

On Thursday, we celebrated our second PBIS/Bee Day! In the morning, students were greeted by Bumbles at arrival, and in the afternoon, Bumbles made a special visit to our PM classrooms. Each class participated in a fun and meaningful flower-making activity. Just like bees help pollinate flowers, we talked about how our actions help our friends grow. As teachers read each petal aloud—I am kind to my friends and teachers, I use gentle hands with my friends, I am excited to learn and play at school, I play together with my friends, I listen to my teachers, and I keep my body safe—students placed a pom-pom in the center of their flower to show they agreed with the action.

Reminder for Families: There will be no school on Friday, January 16th for All Day Staff Professional Development , and Monday, January 19th, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Registration for the 2026-2027 school year for current families and alumni is currently open, and will close on January 16th.

If your child receives a placement through Special Education, the Teams will be making recommendations during upcoming IEP meetings and will communicate that with you.

Open registration for the new families will begin on January 20th, at 7am, through February 6th.

Prospective families are invited to join us for an in-person information session at Pittaway on January 14th at 6:00 p.m. During this session, we will share information about the preschool program and review the registration process. If you will require translation services for this event, please email Donna Pederson at dpederson@ashland.k12.ma.us.

The attached letter includes information for our current Pittaway families who have a child eligible for Kindergarten for the 2026–2027 school year. A copy of this letter will also be sent home with all eligible students.

January 16: No School - All Day Professional Development for Staff

January 19: No School -Martin Luther King Jr. Day

February 12: Winter Fest - 10am for AM classes, 1:30pm for PM and Full day classes

February 16-20: No School - February Break
