Dear Families of a Class of 2027 Graduate,

This special edition of the Tiger Times covers all pertinent information for any student who will be graduating with us this school year (this is a live document and it will be updated throughout the year). Please read through this and reach out should you have any questions. As well, moving forward the link to this Senior Newsletter will be permanently placed at the bottom of the "College and Career" section in Friday's Tiger Times so that you can continue to reference the information at your convenience.

SENIOR PHOTOS

Picture Day is finally here!

Senior Pictures are scheduled for Tuesday, October 13th. Photos will be taken by the company HR Imaging again this year.

  • Seniors will have two photos or poses; one photo in their outfit of choice and one photo in their caps and gowns.
  • Please review this flyer for more information.

All students will take their pictures through their English classes. If your student does not have an English class here at EPHS, his/her/their picture(s) will be taken during lunch on the assigned, respective day. Make-up photos will be done in late November during all lunch periods.

FAFSA Completion Requirement -- The FAFSA or Alternative Application is required for nearly all colleges and is also a graduation requirement for Illinois seniors. Students can meet this requirement in one of three ways:

  1. Complete the FAFSA

  2. Complete the Alternative Application (for students who do not qualify for FAFSA)

  3. Submit the FAFSA Non-Participation Waiver (ONLY for students not planning to attend any postsecondary institution).

SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL AID

Throughout the course of the year, there will be several FAFSA Application Nights where our staff and members from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) — including Spanish-speaking staff — will be here to guide you through the application process. Our next FAFSA/Financial Aid Night will be on Wednesday, October 28, followed by another on Wednesday, November 18. These are drop-in events, so you can come at any point during the evening for one-on-one assistance. Stay tuned for additional FAFSA dates and financial aid updates in the weekly Tiger Times and on this document as more details become available.

Finally, seniors are encouraged to keep an eye out for local scholarships in the area. Whenever EPHS receives information about these, they are posted in the scholarship search section of SchoolLinks. If students have questions about scholarships, they should see our College & Career Counselor, Ms. Merkel in the College & Career Center (Rm. 219).
