Weekly News at Reidy Creek Elementary School 4/25/2025
Dear Reidy Creek Families,
It was a wonderful first week back! Students settled back into their routines as we gear up for the last eight weeks of the school year. We had our second-grade Lunch and Learn, which was focused on navigating social relationships. It was a beautiful day, and we had a great turnout! Our last Lunch and Learn of the year will be for fourth grade on Wednesday, May 21st, at 11:10. The focus of this presentation will be on digital citizenship and safety.
At our Friday assembly this morning, we proudly recognized Danielle Gruffydd as our EEEA Employee of the Year. Danielle, a preschool teacher at Reidy Creek, is known for her calm confidence, genuine warmth, positive attitude, and exceptional organization. She creates a classroom environment that is both structured and full of creativity, joy, and fun. Her impact on our Coyote community is truly meaningful, and we were honored to celebrate the incredible difference she makes each day on some of our youngest students.
Lastly, there are many upcoming events, trips, and performances over the next two months. Please read all communications from your classroom teacher and look over the "Upcoming Dates" at the bottom of the Coyote Connection. If you have any questions regarding future events, please don't hesitate to ask.

Staff Appreciation Week
Staff Appreciation Week (May 5–9, 2025) is quickly approaching, and we’re excited to celebrate the incredible team that makes Reidy Creek such a special place! From Monday through Friday, we’ll be honoring all of our teachers and support staff with treats and acts of gratitude.
If you'd like to do something for a teacher or a staff member to show your appreciation, here are some suggestions!

Handwritten Notes & Artwork: Encourage your child to write a short “thank you” note or create a colorful drawing for a favorite staff member. Drop these in our “Appreciation Box” in the front office all week long and we'll make sure they get delivered.

Treat Surprise: Surprise a teacher or a staff member with their favorite treat or beverage throughout the week.

Classroom Supplies: Treat the class and students to a new book, or fun classroom activity!

Coyote Shout‑Outs: Head to the main office and fill out a "Coyote Shout Out" to recognize someone special on campus!
Thank you for helping us make Staff Appreciation Week memorable. Reidy Creek is an extremely special school, and our staff plays a huge role in cultivating such a positive learning environment for all of our students.
Book Fair
The Book Fair is returning to Reidy Creek on May 12th-May 16th. This is the BOGO (buy one, get one) event. All classes will be visiting the Book Fair during their regularly scheduled library time. It will be open from 7:30-8:10 and 2:45-3:30 Monday-Thursday if families would like to visit.
Life is BUSY. We get it. Volunteer shifts are short and fun! Schedule ahead a time that works for you and come share bookjoy with your RC family!
Book Fair Homepage & e-wallet Setup
Through the Book Fair Homepage, families can access the online catalog and set up an e-wallet for their students. When funding a current e-wallet, any leftover funds from previous sales will appear as an option in your account!
3rd-5th Grade State Testing
This week, students have started preparing for State Testing, which is scheduled for Tuesday, May 6th - Friday, May 23rd.
The first week of testing will be May 6th-May 9th from 8:15-9:45. Please ensure that your child arrives at school on time every day so they have a smooth transition into testing.
Next week, I'll send home more specific information regarding testing dates and how to help your child prepare.
Yearbook Deadline
It's not too late to get a yearbook! Although the link is no longer active, parents can still send in cash or a check to the main office if you'd like to purchase one. Please make sure that your child's name, grade level, and teacher is on the envelope.

Lunch and Learn Dates
Lunch and Learn Dates and Topics:
5/21/25 - Fourth Grade - Digital Safety
The parent presentations will all be in the MPR 30 minutes before your child's scheduled lunch time. After the presentation, families will be invited to enjoy lunch in the courtyard with their child. Grade level flyers will be sent home closer to each event.
