Principals' Message
Dear SCS Families, Caregivers, and Shelburne Community,
Thank you to all our families and caregivers who participated in our fall PreK-4 Open House. The school buzzed with excited children who took their guests to their favorite places and spaces around the school, sharing a glimpse into their daily routines and learning. Seeing our students take such pride in showing off their work and classrooms made the evening truly special. We are so grateful for your continued partnership and support!
This week brought a true trifecta of THREE transportation-related projects. Of course, there is the ongoing Bay Road closure due to the wastewater upgrades, which the town now estimates will wrap up around October 20. We can hang in there for three more weeks! Secondly, we now have new crosswalks and a flashing light at the crosswalk on School Street. This is the culmination of a grant written in November 2022 that we had all but given up hope of completing. Thank you to the Town of Shelburne and the Bike & Pedestrian Paths Committee for their support of this project. Last but not least, we now have a solid white line in the westbound lane of Harbor Road marking where we need traffic heading to school to stop so our buses have room to turn out of the driveway. With three improvements happening all at once, we are looking forward to seeing the snowball effect over the next few weeks!
We hope to see many of you at the PTO meeting next week, on Tuesday evening from 6:00-7:00 in the Green Team space. We’ll be celebrating the launch of Dynamic Experiences and looking ahead to more exciting events taking place this fall. As always, pizza & childcare will be provided. Hope to see you there.
In Partnership,
Jen, Brett and Tania

Scenes from our Week
School St Crosswalk Improvements
Thank you all for your flexibility and understanding as we navigated the crosswalk construction
on School Street this week. We are very excited about these safety enhancements which will
benefit our whole community.
8th Grade Trip to Workforce in Motion Summit
On Tuesday 9/29, our 8th graders attended the Workforce in Motion Summit at the Champlain Valley Expo. It was a chance to explore careers, meet real professionals, try hands-on activities, and discover opportunities right here in Vermont. As a school community, we are focusing on making stronger connections between what happens at school and students' everyday lives. This was a great opportunity for our 8th graders to see what career options are available down the road and think about what they can do over the next few years to be ready.

A huge THANK YOU to all of our SCS families who participated in this year’s
Dynamic Experiences Raffle!
We are so grateful to everyone who purchased tickets and helped make this fundraiser such a fun success. It was especially wonderful seeing students of all ages stopping by the new PTO Bulletin Board, checking out all the amazing experiences, and getting excited about the winners!
And of course, a BIG thank-you to our incredible SCS staff who donated experiences. Their creativity, generosity, and willingness to share their time and talents made this fundraiser possible.
We hope our winners have an amazing time with their experiences!
Thank you for continuing to support the SCS PTO and our school community.
