Senior Final Exam Exemption Qualifications
To qualify for a final exam exemption, seniors must meet a set of standards laid out by the district: maintaining satisfactory course performance with at least a “C” average in the course for which they want an exemption, having fewer than six absences in that class, no truancies or suspensions from that class, and having all required assignments completed.
Seniors who do not meet these benchmarks can still walk in the graduation ceremony, they will not receive their diploma until their finals have been completed; finals are to be completed at the regularly scheduled final exam time (Wednesday May 20, Thursday May 21, Friday May 22).
IHSA Starting Date for Football
We want to share an important update regarding the start of the 2026 IHSA football season, as this change may impact summer plans.
The IHSA has moved the first allowable football practice date from Monday, August 10, 2026 to Wednesday, August 5, 2026. This adjustment follows a recent IHSA decision to expand the football playoffs by one week. After further review, the IHSA—along with its Sports Medicine Advisory Committee and safety experts—determined that additional time was needed to ensure appropriate heat acclimatization and player safety.
As part of this update:
The IHSA requires that student-athletes must now complete 12 days of on-field practice (no Sundays), with practices lasting a minimum of 1.5 hours per day, before participating in their first game.
To ensure that all student-athletes can meet the requirement, District 211 will have 14 practice days scheduled between August 5 and the first games on Friday, August 21.
We recognize that District 211 has historically maintained the last week of July and the first week of August as a non-contact period, and we understand that this shift may affect family schedules. We are sharing this information now to support advance planning. If you have questions, please contact our Athletic Director, Hamid Mehreioskouei.

Senior Job Fair 4/23/26
The 2026 Senior Job Fair is open to all District 211 Seniors who are planning on entering the workforce after graduation. Transportation to and from Schaumburg High School will be provided for students from our other District 211 high schools. Please see the District 211 website for more information.
Please note that this event is not for summer-only jobs or students who plan to attend a college or university full-time in the fall. It is a good fit for students who plan to work while also taking classes at Harper College.
This event will include more than 80 employers prepared to offer entry-level jobs to our graduates in areas that will help our students launch their careers. The Job Fair will cover roles in pathways such as manufacturing, healthcare and skilled trades, partnering with local growing businesses. Current employers participating can be found on the District 211 Senior Job Fair website. Continue to monitor for the most up-to-date list of participating employers.
The D211 Senior Job Fair will be held during the school day at Schaumburg High School. To attend, students must download and submit a completed Senior Job Fair Permission Slip and return it to their Career Advisor in their school. Paper copies of the permission slip forms are also available at school through your Career Advisor. Consider having a supply of paper permission slip forms available in your classroom.
Career Advisors will coordinate directly with students to support registration, collect permission slip forms, and coordinate transportation.
