Career Connections Unlimited is a monthly newsletter produced by the Anaheim Union High School District's Special Youth Services Work-Based Learning, Work-Based Experience team to collect community events, resources, education, and job opportunities in one place. Content is for informational purposes and provided as a courtesy and service to the community only. You are solely responsible for determining whether an event, resource, or educational or job opportunity is appropriate or suitable for your individual needs.
HIGHLIGHT
It's a Gilbert Grind Coffee Cart
Gilbert Adult Transition Program Coffee Cart had their first official return for the school year at the District Office. Beyond just a cup of coffee, these weekly interactions provide the real world environment our students need to develop the professional skills necessary to become contributing members of society.
National Disability Employment Awareness Month
In October 2026, we celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), an annual recognition of the positive impact of people with disabilities in the American workforce. This yearly event began in 1945 as a weeklong national observance of the contributions of people with physical disabilities. In 1988 it evolved to acknowledge the importance of increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities, including those with mental health conditions and other nonobvious disabilities.

The Arc, The Arc San Francisco, and AT&T have collaborated to create safe and accessible digital skills trainings that accommodate the different learning styles of people with disabilities.
Free Digital Skills Training
Resources are available online nationwide, with in-person workshops offered in 14 regions, making it easy to access training in the way that works best for you or the people you support.
Participants will learn skills such as:
