Wiggin Street Parent Update

Dear Wiggin Street Families,

We will be finishing up our Read-a-thon prizes this week with the Wade’s at the Kenyon Miller Observatory on Monday and the Kenyon Inn on Tuesday. We are so thankful for the Gambier community and the wonderful opportunities our students are able to enjoy.

Would you like to be part of our staff serving the students of Wiggin Street in the cafeteria? We are looking for a 3-hour cook to support Mrs. Walker during the school day. This is a great opportunity for someone who would like to work while their children are at school. Details can be found below.

Lastly, please help our students arrive and be picked up safely from school. Parents of walkers should pick up their students on the front lawn after school. Students are not permitted to walk to parked cars. If your student will be walking home or going to a Kenyon office, please notify the school office of the plan. Students being picked up by car must be picked up in the car line. We ask that parents do not take down the chain and instead wait for staff to do so. This helps ensure the safety of students walking to and from the playground.

We will be hosting a Literacy Night on March 19th from 6:30-8:00 pm, and Troy Cummings will be the visiting Author and Illustrator. He will visit students during the day and then in the evening with families. Students brought home pre-order forms this week for Troy Cummings' books, and the forms are due by February 23rd. Payment can be made by cash or check.

As students in grades 3-5 prepare for Ohio State Tests that will take place in April, it is always helpful for parents to understand the expectations for their child. This site offers families a practice test and information to better familiarize themselves with the tests.
