Boys and Girls Club coming to Greenbrook School 2025-2026!
The Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Illinois are excited to expand our after-school program services to Keeneyville District 20 to Greenbrook Elementary School this fall beginning on the first day of school, August 20, 2025! At the Club, we aim for each youth member to have fun in a safe environment, while fostering supportive relationships with staff and peers, exposing youth to unique program opportunities, and recognizing members for their efforts and accomplishments.
- The Basics:
- Our program features a low-to-no cost membership fee structure, providing sliding scale fees to ensure that all students interested in participating can join. Approximately 50% of families are eligible to participate in our programs for free.
- Programs are offered daily from 3:20 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Wednesdays from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., on days when school is in session.
- A 1:15 staff-to-student ratio is maintained to ensure that members get the support and attention needed from our team of youth development professionals.
- Nutritious snacks are provided daily after school.
- What We Offer:
- Academic Enrichment – Students receive assistance with their daily homework assignments, in addition to hands-on learning activities that promote literacy and STEM.
- Social Emotional & Community Building Activities – Our students participate in positive community activities that develop social skills, leadership and relationship building.
- Sports & Recreation – Activities will build self-esteem, positive communication skills and promote physical fitness, leadership skills and working as a team.
- The Arts – Visual arts, crafts, and performing arts help promote creativity and self-expression.
- Extras – In partnership with local businesses, students have the opportunity to participate in field trips and engage with leaders in the community.
- How to Join:
- Register online via our MyClubHub parent portal at https://bgcncil.org/register/.
- All families must complete a Membership Fee Determination Form as a second step to the application process. This process helps us determine which families qualify for a scholarship or reduced fees.
- Completed applications will receive a confirmation email with the child’s start date, or indication if the child is on a waitlist.
- Call our bilingual team at 847-608-5017 for more information or enrollment support.

Reminders for next year:
As we begin to prepare for the new school year, please remember that you may need to submit some medical/health forms with your registration paperwork. Please note that you only need to return the forms that apply to your student(s) age, grade, and health-related needs. All of these forms can be found on our district website at District Health Forms - Keeneyville Elementary School District 20 (esd20.org)
- Kindergarten, 6th grade and new students entering our district must have a CURRENT child health examination form submitted before the first day of school. All immunizations and health history must be completed including the parent portion at the top of page 1. Please note that students entering 6th grade must have a Tdap vaccination and a meningococcal vaccination.
- Kindergarten, 2nd grade and 6th-grade students are required to have a dental examination submitted.
- Kindergarten students are required to have an eye examination completed by an eye care provider.
If your student requires medication throughout their school day, we request that you have the medication form completed by you and your physician BEFORE the first day of school. Any medications need to be in a prescription bottle or original packages labeled with your student’s name and birthday. We cannot give any medications at school without this form completed and signed by the parent and physician.
If your student has asthma, food allergies, or a seizure disorder your physician should provide an emergency action plan for their specific condition. Students with diabetes should have a diabetes medical management plan completed. This includes any medication as part of their plan (inhaler, epi-pens, etc.). This plan should be available to the health office before the first day of school.
Throughout the summer, forms can be mailed or dropped off at the front office at Greenbrook School. Or e-mailed to apascolla@esd20.org.
Our goal is always to keep our students safe and well in their learning environment. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Homework For All Greenbrook Students at Home
Dear Gator Families,
As we move further into the school year, it is essential to remember the critical role that continued academic practice at home plays in reinforcing the concepts learned in the classroom. Consistent engagement with learning materials outside of the classroom helps solidify new skills , build confidence and fosters lifelong learning.
Here are some ways to support your child’s academic growth at home:
Set a regular routine: Designate a quiet space each day for homework or independent reading. Consistency is key to building good habits.
Practice, Practice, Practice: Encourage your child to regularly review recent lessons. Practice problems, flashcards or listen to books online.
Explore Educational Websites: Websites like Khan Academy offer interactive lessons and practice in subjects ranging from math to languages arts.
Check out the following websites!
Read Together: Reading at home supports language development and strengthens comprehension skills. Ask questions about the story to promote critical thinking.
Use Educational Apps: Apps like Prodigy for math and Epic! for reading offer engaging, educational content tailored to your child’s age and ability.
By incorporating these strategies, you can help your child achieve success and develop strong academic habits. Together, we can ensure their continued growth and success!
