THE FORECAST
DAY 1 RECAP | DAY 2 & 3 PREVIEW
Notes from the Principal's Desk
Today was a great day! The first day of school brings a unique energy that only happens ONE DAY a year! Our SOONS navigated the new schedule and facility quite well. We are working through schedule errors as quickly as we possibly can and will continue to make necessary adjustments to meet the needs of all of our students!
RE: Schedule Changes
Scheduling changes are complex. Our top priority is fixing schedule ERRORS. We cannot accommodate teacher changes or period changes. Our counseling team is meeting with students throughout the day. Schedule changes will not be made via email as any one schedule change can impact several other classes. Counselors will be doing schedule changes after school only. Errors will be corrected during the period the error occurs.
Below is a list of possible ERRORS:
Students with a HOLE in their schedules: Missing a period.
Students with Double Periods: Two period 4s
Students missing an English or required class for graduation: No ENGLISH or ACADEMIC CORE class
Students who have taken a class already: (ex: Summer School)
Students in the wrong GRADE level of class: Sophomore in English 12
DISMISSAL:
We will be issuing OFF CAMPUS PASSES shortly (through our Digital ID System - Minga) in order to assist with dismissal.
Please review tomorrow's unique schedule as it will be the only time we utilize this schedule as we transition to the block rotation after Monday!

2023-24 BELL SCHEDULE
The Bell Schedule Overview answers many questions about the bell schedule, but we cannot anticipate them all. We will utilize the form below to receive feedback and look to answer those FAQs in the upcoming editions of The Forecast. Our Bell Schedule Committee is continuing to meet this year and will take input from our community as we seek to create the BEST schedule for our students moving forward. We know, from experience and from our colleagues at Bellflower Middle/High School that adjustments were made to their bell schedule after implementation. We will utilize data and student performance indicators to drive all decisions on this campus. We thank you in advance for your support and patience with this "change process."
DATA CONFIRMATION (IS STILL OPEN)
Data Confirmation (Opens July 21st)
“Data Confirmation” is an important part of Mayfair’s online registration using AERIES Parent Portal. You can access the parent portal at https://parentportal.busd.k12.ca.us, click on “Data Confirmation” for each student. You will be asked a series of questions to verify and authorize your information. It is EXTREMELY important to make sure we have the appropriate contact information - especially for emergency situations, such as school closures. If you do not have a parent portal account, please follow instructions on how to set-up your account by going to this link, https://tinyurl.com/28x7e6kp.
