IJAVVE Weekly Memo 11/2
IJAVVE: Believe.Belong.Grow.
Together, we believe in every child, cultivate belonging, and grow in community.
#Puma Viking Pride!
October 30,2026
IJAVVE Team,
As we head into next week, here are two opportunities to help students celebrate our community, learn from different perspectives, and understand that every voice matters.
Monday, 11/2: Celebrating DΓa de los Muertos
We will celebrate DΓa de los Muertos by honoring loved ones and recognizing the traditions that bring our community together.
Students are welcome to wear multicultural dress.
Students and families may bring a photo copy of a deceased loved one for our cafeteria ofrenda, which will remain on display through 11/6.
Please help students approach this tradition with respect, curiosity, and appreciation.
Tuesday, 11/3: Mock Elections
Tuesday is Election Day! Students will participate in our school mock elections. Use this opportunity to discuss why voting matters, why every voice deserves to be heard, and how access to voting was not always equal.
I've included a StoryCorps video that connects to these ideas. Consider sharing it with students to spark a conversation about fairness, respect, and the importance of making sure everyone has a voice.
Both experiences remind us that belonging grows when we learn from one another and every voice is valued.
Thank you for the heart you bring to this work!
