District News and Information
A Message from Superintendent Joe Koch
As we settle into October, I want to thank you for helping us kick off such a successful start to the school year. I also want to extend my sincere appreciation for your patience and care while navigating drop-off, pick-up, and travel around town amid our ongoing district construction projects and local road work. Your cooperation keeps our students and staff safe every day.
October is also a month of celebration and connection across our district. In honor of Wisconsin School Board Week, I want to express my deepest gratitude to our school board members for their leadership, vision, and dedication to our students and community.
Also, October is National Principals Month. Please join me in recognizing our outstanding school administrators for the guidance, energy, and care they bring to our buildings each day!
Looking ahead, our parent-teacher conferences will take place at the end of the month. These conversations are a vital opportunity to discuss your child’s progress, celebrate their early achievements, and strengthen our partnership between home and school. Watch for scheduling details from your child's school soon.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership, and I wish you and your family a wonderful fall season ahead!
Village Traffic Reminders
The Village of Mukwonago has asked that we remind drivers to follow the posted detour around the West Veterans Way construction. In addition, be sure to obey posted speed limits and drive carefully.
Also, the Village has posted No Trucks on Fairwinds Boulevard from West Veterans Way to Chapman Farm Boulevard and on Macarthur Drive and Meadow View Lane.
Finally, expect increased police coverage in surrounding neighborhoods to help ensure the safety of our families and community members.

Become an MASD Volunteer!
If you're interested in volunteering in the district, please make sure you have an approved application on file before signing up for events. All volunteers must have an approved application on file prior to checking in at the office. In addition, Volunteers must check in at the kiosk by selecting the VOLUNTEER guest type (not visitor), so the proper screening and admittance is processed.
For more information, please visit our MASD volunteer website or start your application by clicking this link.
Speak Up, Speak Out
MASD is proud to partner with the Wisconsin Department of Justice to use the Speak Up, Speak Out (SUSO) confidential reporting system. SUSO allows students and parents to report weapons, threats of violence, bullying, sexual harassment, threat of suicide, drugs, and any other activity that could potentially endanger students, staff, and property. By using SUSO, students and parents can help keep schools safe, and it’s completely confidential.
Students, parents, school staff, or any community members can submit a school safety concern or threat via a website, mobile phone application, or toll-free number. Resource center staff work around-the-clock to respond to tips and to deploy a response locally by communicating directly with school administrators, law enforcement, and counselors. Nationwide, more than half of public middle and high schools now operate a tipline.
Visit the Speak Up, Speak Out website to learn more or to make a tip.

Mukwonago Veterans Memorial Project
The Mukwonago Veterans Memorial Project is working to create a lasting place of reflection, education, and gratitude in our community. The memorial will be built near Park View Middle School at Veterans Way and Rochester, creating a meaningful space where veterans, service members, families, students, and community members can gather to honor those who have served our country.
This project is about more than building a memorial. It is about creating a permanent place for future generations to learn, remember, and reflect on the sacrifices made by the men and women who served.
The estimated project cost is $500,000, and every donation helps bring this vision to life. All proceeds will go toward the construction of the Mukwonago Veterans Memorial Project, supported by the Wisconsin American Legion Foundation, Inc.
