THE CCS NEWSLETTER
Charlotte Central School - November 7, 2025
CCS Parents & Caregivers,
Today’s all-school assembly was a true highlight! Our 6th graders facilitated an entirely student-led assembly—from a fun warm-up check-in to a dramatic read-aloud of The Book with No Pictures, and a whole-school round of Heads Up, Seven Up.
It was wonderful to see our youngest students giggling at the silly words and the older students leading with confidence and care. Huge thanks to our sixth graders and their teachers for designing and choreographing such an engaging, joyful experience for our whole school.
Please take a moment to read today’s PTO Newsletter, which features two great updates:
STEM Night – next Wednesday evening, 6:00–7:30 PM.
A reminder about our Angel Fund, which supports CCS families in times of need. Families can request assistance or contribute to the fund by sending a check to the PTO or directly to CCS. As we navigate colder weather, reduced food assistance, and the holiday season ahead, the Angel Fund continues to make a meaningful difference in our community. Please reach out to either of us or to Betsy Lloyd with any questions.
Finally, below are some photos from yesterday’s Relocation Drill to the Congregational Church—a big thank-you to everyone for helping make it such a safe and successful practice.
Thank you for being such an important part of this caring community.

Student Project Leaders Group
Students in the Project Leaders group, led by Julia Beerworth, recently collaborated with the Charlotte Food Shelf to create Thanksgiving distribution cards. This project taught them the importance of partnering with local organizations to address food insecurity. The Charlotte Food Shelf is an all-volunteer organization currently serving 117 individuals, which includes 34 children (birth to under 18).
CVSD Handbook Update: Expectations for Respectful Language
Champlain Valley School District is committed to fostering learning environments where every student can feel safe, valued, and respected. To support this commitment, we have updated the Student and Family Handbook to clarify our expectations regarding the use of language in our schools. We encourage you to review the updated handbook language, Prohibition on Vulgar/Obscene Language, and to discuss these expectations at home. We thank you for your continued partnership in supporting a positive learning environment for all students.
Counselor Connection with Betsy Lloyd
My hope is to connect with families each week through the newsletter to provide information and resources to support kids and families. As always, please reach out if you need anything, have questions, or if I can help in any way.
