Dear Mayo Families,

What a gorgeous day we had today! It feels like the perfect time to take a moment and appreciate how beautifully our school year is coming together.

✈️ We’ve Reached Cruising Altitude!

After the excitement of takeoff, the first-day jitters, learning new routines, and figuring out where everyone’s pencils mysteriously disappear to, I think it is safe to say that we have reached cruising altitude!

Our students are settled in, classrooms are humming, and the learning is happening everywhere you look. Students are reading, discussing, writing, asking thoughtful questions, and building their skills every day. Classrooms are filled with problem-solving, mathematical thinking, productive struggle, and plenty of moments when the lightbulbs go on. Most importantly, our students are becoming more comfortable, more independent, and more connected to their teachers and classmates. We are seeing friendships grow, confidence build, and that wonderful rhythm of school begin to take hold.

There is something pretty special about this point in the year—the newness has worn off, and we are really beginning to see the Mayo magic in action.

We have plenty of fun ahead, so mark your calendars!

👩‍🏫 Parent-Teacher Conferences
Notices about Parent-Teacher Conferences will be coming via email soon. These conferences are a wonderful opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher, hear about their progress, celebrate their successes, and talk about ways we can continue to support their growth.

Literacy Parade — October 28 at 10:00 AM
Get those costumes and favorite book characters ready! We can't wait to celebrate literacy together with our annual parade. More information will be coming as we get closer to the big day.

🎶 Winter Concert — December 16
And because apparently we enjoy planning ahead…we have officially set the date for our Winter Concert! Wednesday, December 16. 🎵 10:00 AM & 1:30 PM. We are already looking forward to hearing the beautiful sounds of the season filling our school!

As I looked around today, I was reminded just how lucky we are to be part of such a wonderful school community. The beautiful weather certainly helped, but it was the smiles, conversations, learning, and energy of our students that really made today shine.

Thank you for trusting us with your children, for supporting their learning, and for being such an important part of the Mayo community.

For now, we’ll keep our seatbelts fastened, our trays in their upright position, and enjoy the view from cruising altitude! ✈️🍁
