MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
CHS Community,
This is a lengthy but important update with information regarding upcoming events, testing, scheduling, and other important announcements for the remainder of the school year. Please take some time to review the details below carefully. We want to ensure you are well-informed and prepared for the weeks ahead.
TESTING DAY - MARCH 11th
- 8th and 9th Grade: You will be taking the PSAT.
- 10th and 11th Grade: You will be taking the ACT.
- 12th Grade (Seniors): You will have a Career Day. Mrs. Patterson has posted information about two different assignment options for this day in the Class of 2025 Google Classroom. Please check the Google Classroom to choose and complete your assignment.
10th & 11th grade students will complete/update their My ACT account set-up and other pre-administration activities in their English classes. If your student does not have English at CHS, they can pick up their instruction booklet in the Counseling Office. HERE is a video that is helpful when setting up or updating your ACT account.
HERE is a helpful resource when preparing for the ACT. The site includes free practice tests, information about the ACT and other useful information.
STUDENT SCHEDULING MARCH 11
After testing on March 11th, students will begin scheduling for the 2025-26 school year. Students will be dismissed after their scheduling appointments. Breakfast and lunch will be served at their usual times, and district transportation will run on its normal schedule. Students who do not leave early will stay in the cafeteria until regular dismissal at 2:40 PM.
During the first 2 weeks of March attendance during these weeks is important for scheduling presentations, teacher recommendation conferences, and course selection. Please be aware of the following timelines:
- March 4th: Grade Level Scheduling Presentation
- March 10th: Teacher recommendation conferences
- March 11th: Student course selection in Infinite Campus
Course lists will be sent home with students following the March 4th scheduling presentations. Please review and discuss with your child course selection for the 25-26 school year.
Teachers will make course recommendations for the upcoming school year and conference with students. These conferences are a valuable opportunity for students to discuss their academic goals and explore potential pathways. If a student disagrees with a teacher's recommendation, they should complete a Course Recommendation Override form, which must be signed by both the teacher and a parent/guardian.
ALL students will input their 25-26 course requests into Infinite Campus. Students need to ensure that they know their Student Infinite Campus portal log in. Please see Mrs. Giddings in the Guidance office if help is needed.
As a general guideline, students in grades 9-11 are recommended to take six classes. For seniors, we recommend to take a minimum of five classes to ensure they meet all graduation and eligibility requirements.
We encourage students and parents to actively participate in the scheduling process and take advantage of the resources available to them, including teacher and counselor input.
Building Schedule Week of February 24

Enjoy your weekend.

TOPP-NOTCH
CHS Topp-notch A Cappella attended the Nordonia Acafest on Saturday, March 15th. It was a great day of workshops and performances. Our ensemble is working on Try Everything by Shakira and Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran for our spring performances. We were able to do a private workshop with a member of the Swedish A Cappella group The Real Group. It was a fun and informative day. The event culminated with an evening performance by internationally acclaimed a cappella group The Real Group, which brought us an amazing performance of pop and vocal jazz. The evening program opened with Nordonia a cappella groups Genesis and Synergy. Special thank you to Crescendo Club music boosters for sponsoring our participation in this great event.
