Week of October 13th to October 16th Week of October 13th to October 16th

Parent-Teacher Conferences are at the end of this month, on October 27th-29th, and the school schedule that week will be different than normal (see schedule here). Please take advantage of this time to connect with our staff, receive updates on your child’s progress, and to discuss potential interventions to support their continued academic, social, and emotional successes at Cunha.

We will be using an online signup process starting on Monday, October 19th at 8:00 am (instructions will be emailed to you then). Appointments with each teacher are limited to 5 minutes for 6th graders and 10 minutes for 7th and 8th graders. The meetings start and end at the appointed time, so please be punctual.

Youth Cinema Project (YCP) Changes

Youth Cinema Project will not meet on Monday, October 19th as it is a non-student day. Instead, they will make-up their day on Tuesday, October 20th.

The Great ShakeOut drill took place this week on October 15. Please use this school event as a reminder to talk with your family about your own earthquake and disaster preparedness.

Review essential home safety precautions, including:
  • Identifying safe places to "Drop, Cover, and Hold On" inside your home.
  • Establishing a family out-of-home meeting place in case communication is down.

IXL Benchmark Testing

Students took a math and English benchmark test this Thursday and Friday. We had some connectivity issues on the first day, but things seemed to settle by the second day. Thanks to students and teachers for hanging in there with the changes to the bell schedule. Picture below of how we're all feeling a little upside down this week!

There seem to be a lot of athletes missing on game days. Each team has a Team Snap group so everyone can communicate in the moment. Please use it. Please keep your team informed!

Wednesday might have been the longest night of volleyball in history but each of our five teams played hard and stayed until the end!

Cross country is getting ready for individual and team finals with their last regular meet at Crystal Springs. With multiple Cub runners finishing in the top 10 at all ages for the boys they are hoping to defend their Championship title in two weeks. There are also many runners who have a chance to place in the individual championships next week.

Don't forget to text pictures and updates to Breanna at 831-682-1398.

What Cubs will you cheer on next week?

See you at the Pumpkin Pie booth this weekend!
