Hello Mustang Nation,

Thank you to our students, staff, and parents/guardians for making 2026 Prom a success. Although we experienced a slight shift in our time frame for the event, students rolled with the shift nicely and enjoyed a wonderful evening together.

The weather forecast for this week calls for a sharp increase in temperatures - for MHS this means the building may warm rapidly through the day so staying hydrated will be important for students. Please remember to bring a water bottle with you to refill at various locations around the building.

End-of-Year Important Dates & Events

High School Student Experience & Readiness Survey High School Student Experience & Readiness Survey

Students in Grades 9–12 will be able to take part in a brief Student Experience & Readiness Survey. This survey is designed to capture high schoolers' perspectives on critical areas such as Engagement, Academic Challenge, School Culture, Belonging, and College & Career Readiness. By gathering this feedback, we can identify what we are doing well and where we can improve to ensure our school remains a safe, fair, and exciting place to learn. We value your child's honest voice as we work together to make our school the best it can be.

ADULTING DAY SUCCESS! ADULTING DAY SUCCESS!

A special thjakn you to our dedicated staff who prepared mini-demonstrations to show our students useful skills and tricks-to-the trade of being an adult. Everything from learning how to fold a fitted sheet, to meditation, to wellness habits, to financial wisdom. Our students were engaged, energetic, and respectful. Thank you to Mrs. Pellegrino and Mrs. Desjardins for organizing the first annual MHS Adulting Day! Photos of the event are linked below (there are A LOT of them).

2025-2026 MASSABESIC HIGH SCHOOL YEARBOOK 2025-2026 MASSABESIC HIGH SCHOOL YEARBOOK

Is it too late to buy a yearbook?

No. It is not too late.

Yearbooks can be purchased on jostens.com. This online opportunity will remain open until approximately June 4th; follow the path for Massabesic, Waterboro, High school, yearbook. After this date we can accept money (cash or check) and place the order for anyone who would like to still order a book. The money goes right into the MHS Yearbook account and goes to covering the cost of producing/printing the book.

*Signature booklets will be available to students who have a purchased book recorded. I am able to check a purchase report list, if anyone is not sure.

*Just see/email me. The yearbooks are $90, even.

Will books arrive before school ends?

No, they will arrive at the High School the first week of August. There will be a sign in front of the school signaling they are here. For the past 4 years, our MHS yearbooks have covered the entire year, for the whole school; including all 3 sport seasons, events, academics, etc. through graduation. The last pages are finished the weekend after the graduation ceremonies, and the book goes off to the printers. Not every school has this benefit. They have their senior year recorded thru Fall and Winter only, and then Spring events (PROM, Sports ,Graduation) is from the previous school year. This is where MHS stands out. The Book usually arrives, at the High school, the first full week of August. They are then inspected, counted, and sorted then distributed to families/students.

Expected dates and time for 2026 pick-up:

August 7th-Friday, 8th-Saturday and 9th-Sunday

Friday, August 7th: 3pm-7pm

Saturday, August 8th: 10am-2pm

Sunday, August 9th: 1pm-5pm

*Please contact for questions, or issues: heidifryzlewicz@rsu57.org

**Once you've received your book, in August, if you are not satisfied we can only refund money for a returned, undamaged/unmarked book.

Thank you for your purchase!

Great job by the School Law Enforcement Club at Massabesic High School this week! Deputy Cummer's Law Enforcement club ran a donut fundraiser to support the purchase of training equipment and apparel for the students. Tickets were sold during school lunches, with students and staff picking up their donuts on Friday.
A big thank you to Waterboro Hannaford and Store Manager TJ Buckley for generously donating all the donuts!
Any unsold donuts were donated to local law enforcement agencies in honor of National Police Week.
Events like this are a great way to build positive connections between students and law enforcement.

Thank you to everyone who supported the students!!

Deputy Cummer is also spending some important amount of time in the school parking lot during arrival to help ensure the safety of all students. From the moment you arrive on campus, he strongly recommends that you follow best practices: park promptly and head directly into the building. Please avoid prolonged loitering in the parking areas. He will continue monitoring the lot in the mornings and may ask students to enter the building promptly. Thank you for helping keep our campus safe!

MHS RESILIENCY PROJECT MHS RESILIENCY PROJECT

IT'S KINDNESS MONTH AT MHS!!

This month, the Resiliency Project has teamed up with the National Honor Society to kick off our first annual Kindness Month at MHS. We have begun the month by posting hundreds of kind and inspirational quotes around the school. Every morning, during our announcements, we start our day with a quote about kindness. We have an interactive bulletin board in the hallway where all the students at MHS can write a kind word or phrase down to spread kindness. Within two days of that board going up, the poster board was full of positivity and kindness from our student population. It was so well-received that we will put a new board out each week during this kindness month to keep the positive vibes flowing through the hallways.

NCAA Division 1 or 2 Eligibility Information NCAA Division 1 or 2 Eligibility Information

Eligibility for NCAA Division I or Division II college athletics is dependent not only on a student's athletic abilities but also on the academic preparation the student pursues in high school.

For more in depth information, students and families should refer to a Guide for the College-Bound Student Athlete 2025-26. The NCAA updates this guide each school year, and students and families should double check the updated guide each fall.
