TBT's
TBTs: Keep the Focus on Student Learning
Please come prepared to engage in meaningful, data-driven conversations during your upcoming TBT meetings.
Grade-Level Leaders:
Grade K-3 Document formative assessment data in the TBT protocol.
Grade K-3 Bring formative assessment data for the team to review.
Bring the TE to help determine instructional next steps.
Be prepared to discuss the high-leverage action step taken to support the implementation of the previous week's instructional strategy.
Grade 4-5 Interim Data Results Analysis ELA focus: Based on the data, we will identify common patterns in student performance relative to the standard, develop one high-leverage instructional action step to address the identified need, and review its implementation and impact at the next TBT meeting.
Quick IMTSS check-in (How are students doing with interventions?)
* Our TBT conversations should lead to clear instructional decisions that respond to student needs.
Let's continue to use evidence of student learning to determine what to reteach, reinforce, and
extend.
π Interim Assessments: Moving From Predictions to Action
After Testing: Look Closer, Then Act
Our work does not stop when students finish an assessment. We must use the results to make informed instructional decisions.
1. Identify the patterns.
Find your top five and bottom five items in CRS. Compare the results with your predictions. What surprised you?
2. Study the questions.
Examine the point value, complexity, and question type. Does our instruction reflect the rigor students encountered on the assessment?
3. Analyze student responses.
Dig into the Item Analysis Report to see which answers students selected. When multiple students choose the same incorrect answer, this may reveal a shared misconception that needs to be addressed.
4. Plan the instructional response.
Bring your worksheet, assessment blueprint, and scratch paper to TBT. Use your findings to plan targeted reteaching, flexible groups, and enrichment opportunities for students who are ready to go deeper.
WIN
As we approach our 4th week of WIN groups. You should have at least one progress monitoring data assessment in Educlimber if you monitoring ELA. Please ask Ms. Mahoney for assistance with getting that data in. Remember you should be taking attendance.
Lexia, Waggle, and Zearn
As I review student progress reports in Lexia, Waggle, and Zearn, I am noticing that many students are stalled and need additional support to move forward. Please review student progress regularly when assigning activities and identify students who may need reteaching, additional practice, or targeted support.
Printable resources are available and can be used to reinforce skills during small-group instruction, provide extra practice, or be sent home for homework.
Consistent monitoring is essential to the effective use of these platforms. Please establish clear, explicit expectations for students when they are working independently, including what they should be working on, how to seek help when needed, and what to do when they finish. Please let me know if you need help reviewing your reports.
