Greetings MMA Families and friends-

It’s hard to believe that we are already in the month of December! It has truly been a privilege working at MMA and getting acquainted with our amazing staff and brilliant students. I have so much gratitude for being allowed the opportunity to work at MMA.

We have already done so many things that can be celebrated- our new cheering team, basketball tryouts for our 7/8th graders, implementation of curriculum that aligns with the other 5-8 schools in Manchester, a field trip to the farm that houses our adopted calf, Fri-YAYs, lunch leaders, quarter 1 awards ceremony followed by a table of gratitude- the list of awesome goes on and on.

We celebrated our scholars' accomplishments on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving Recess at our Quarter 1 Awards Ceremony. Students received awards for High Honor Roll, Honor Roll, Attendance and Teacher's Choice Awards such as Respect, Integrity, Self Advocacy, etc.

Academic Awards-

MMA was proud to present 6 students with High Honor Roll Awards (students having an "A" average in all classes) and 13 students with Honor Roll Awards (students having "A" and "B" averages).

Attendance Awards-

Attendance and academic achievement go hand in hand and attendance at MMA has been phenomenal for Quarter 1! We had 17 students receive awards for coming to school 90% of the time or more, and 3 additional students who had PERFECT attendance! Congratulations to our dedicated scholars!

Staff Awards-

Scholars were also honored for the characteristics that make them great! 23 additional awards were given to students who displayed exemplary traits while at school. Some examples were the "Safety Spotlight Award", "Creativity Award", "Never Give Up Award", "Kindness Award", "Future Oriented Award" and the very prestigious, "Principal's Award"

Congrats to all our MMA Award Winners for Quarter 1! We can't wait to see our Lions continue to learn and grow in the upcoming Quarter!

Our 5th and 6th grade students took a field trip to Oakridge Dairy Farm last month to visit their classroom's adopted baby calf, Poppy, who was born this past October at the Farm.

The student's learned about the milking process and the cow's life and home on the farm. The kids came back excited and eager to report all the facts they learned. They all reported that Poppy was of course adorable and doing well!

Congratulations to the MMA Cheer Team who gave their first school wide performance! The team utilized their activity time everyday to develop, practice and put together a show stopping performance. The entire MMA community was stunned at the talent and spirit displayed!
