SHS Leadership Update
Welcome, Ms. Tesch!
We are pleased to announce that Ms. Kate Tesch has been named our Interim Principal, effective next week. Ms. Tesch brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to our Superior High School students, staff, and families. Ms. Tesch is in her sixth year as the Director of Continuous Improvement and Assessment in the School District of Superior. For 11 years prior, she was the principal at Bryant Elementary School where the staff was recognized for achieving a “Significantly Exceeding Expectations” School Report Card rating. The foundation of her career in education has been rooted in her experiences teaching middle school mathematics in a few districts across the state.
A University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and University of Wisconsin-Superior alumni, Ms. Tesch holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a minor in mathematics and a master’s degree in educational administration with a principal licensure. Ms. Tesch has been involved with the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators (AWSA) in various roles over the past 18 years, currently serving on the Board of Directors.
Always passionate about the impact that adults have with children in our schools, Ms. Tesch continues to advocate for and support effective school leadership and data-driven improvement efforts. Outside of the work-day, she enjoys being active outdoors near Lake Superior with her husband and dogs; mountain biking, playing soccer, cross country skiing and attempting to keep the deer and rabbits out of her perennial gardens.

Optional ACT for Junior Students - Register by 9/12
Juniors, sign up to take the optional ACT on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at SHS to prepare for your required Spring ACT test date on March 24, 2026.
What is the ACT?
The ACT® test, a curriculum-based educational and career planning tool, is the leading college readiness assessment in the United States. The ACT is based on what students learn in high school and reports achievement levels related to the college and career readiness standards.
The ACT contains four multiple-choice tests—English, mathematics, reading, and science—and a writing test. These tests are designed to measure skills that are most important for success in postsecondary education. The score range for each of the four multiple-choice tests is 1–36. The Composite score is the average of the four test scores rounded to the nearest whole number.
For more information on the ACT, click here.
Why take the optional Fall ACT?
